Clinching Scenarios: Xfinity Series

The Xfinity series rolls into Bristol this weekend to cap off their regular season. After 26 races there is still a lot to fight for. Below is the minimum and simplest scenarios that a driver/owner needs to do in order to clinch a spot into the playoffs. To go along with this the fight for the title of regular season champion hasn’t been settled either. Below is the scenarios for that as well. No matter what else happens in the race on Friday if the scenario happens then the ticket is punched to the next round.

Driver Points Clinching Scenarios: Cut line

Daniel Hemric
      • No winner below cut: Needs 19 points (18th place finish)
      • Winner below cut: Needs 38 points (2nd place finish + 3 stage points)
Landon Cassill
      • No winner below cut: Needs 37 points (2nd place finish + 2 stage points)
      • Winner below cut: Needs to stay above Ryan Sieg and Sheldon Creed in points and needs 19 points more than Daniel Hemric.
Ryan Sieg
      • No winner below cut: If he stays above Sheldon Creed in points then he needs 20 points more than Landon Cassill or 38 points more than Daniel Hemric
      • Winner below cut: If he doesn’t win then he needs TWO of the following scenarios: stay above Sheldon Creed in points, 20 points more than Landon Cassill, 38 points more than Daniel Hemric.
Sheldon Creed
      • No winner below cut: Needs TWO of the following scenarios: 19 points more than Ryan Sieg, 33 points more than Landon Cassill, 51 points more than Daniel Hemric.
      • Winner below cut: If he doesn’t win then he needs ALL three scenarios mentioned above.

Driver Points Clinching Scenarios: Regular Season Champ

A.J. Allmendinger
      • Needs 23 points (14th place finish)
Ty Gibbs
      • Needs to stay above Justin Allgaier in points and needs 39 points more than A.J. Allmendinger.
Justin Allgaier
      • Needs 18 points more than Ty Gibbs and 56 points more than A.J. Allmendinger.

Owner Points Clinching Scenarios: Cut line

Jeremy Clements Racing No. 51 (needs to finish top 20 in points)
      • Needs 44 points (2nd place + 9 stage points)
Kaulig Racing No. 11
      • No winner below cut: Needs 38 points (2nd place finish + 3 stage points)
      • Winner below cut: MUST WIN
      • No winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: Needs 19 points (18th place finish)
      • Winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: Needs 38 points (2nd place finish + 3 stage points)
Kaulig Racing No. 10
      • No winner below cut: Needs to stay above the No. 39 and the No. 2 in points and needs 19 points more than the No. 11
      • Winner below cut: MUST WIN
      • No winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: Needs 37 points (2nd place finish + 2 stage points)
      • Winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: If the No. 19 doesn’t win then he needs to stay above the No. 39 and the No. 2 in points and needs 19 points more than the No. 11
Richard Childress Racing No. 2
      • No winner below cut: If the No. 2 stays above the No. 39 in points then he needs 33 points more than the No. 10 AND 51 points more than the No. 11.
      • Winner below cut: MUST WIN
      • No winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: If the No. 2 stays above the No. 39 in points then he needs 33 points more than the No. 10 or 51 points more than the No. 11.
      • Winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: If he doesn’t win and the No. 2 stays above the No. 39 in points then he needs 33 points more than the No. 10 AND 51 points more than the No. 11.
RSS Racing No. 39
      • No winner below cut: Needs ALL of the following scenarios: 2 points more than the No. 2, 34 points more than the No. 10 and 52 points more than the No. 11.
      • Winner below cut: MUST WIN
      • No winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: Needs TWO of the following scenarios: 2 points more than the No. 2, 34 points more than the No. 10, 52 points more than the No. 11.
      • Winner below cut + No. 51 falls below 20th in points: If the No. 39 doesn’t win then he needs ALL of the following scenarios: 2 points more than the No. 2, 34 points more than the No. 10 and 52 points more than the No. 11.

Owner Points Clinching Scenarios: Regular Season Champ

Kaulig No. 16
      • Needs 23 points (14th place finish)
Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54
      • Needs to stay above the No. 7 in points and needs 39 points more than the No. 16.
JR Motorsports No. 7
      • Needs 18 points more than the No. 54 and 56 points more than the No. 16.
