The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Lone Star state this weekend to start off the round of 12. Here is a look at the 12 playoff drivers 2022 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2022 with ranking through 29 races since the Chase started in 2004. We will also highlight notable streaks accomplished through the year and Texas statistics.

Chase has had the best season in the Cup series this year. However, the first round of the playoffs was not too kind to the regular season champ getting only 1 Top 10 (a 2nd place at Bristol). His Texas stats shows he has been decent here in the past but not spectacular. If the stats are true to what he does Sunday look for Chase to have a solid day finishing inside the Top 15, even perhaps Top 10 with the potential for a few stage points.

Joey Logano has had a quietly good and pretty consistent season. He ranks in the top 6 of every statistical category above for 2022 rankings. He finish 4th in the All-Star race earlier this year for what that is worth. His average finish isn’t great at Texas, but with 11 Top 5’s and 7 finishes outside the Top 20 is more of boom or bust here at Texas. Based on his Texas stats he will either finish Top 5 or outside the Top 20. However, when you look at his stats for this year I say a boom for Joey is more likely than a bust this time at Texas.

Ross has had a surprising season for Trackhouse Racing, however the last couple months have not been what the 1 team have hoped for. Ross finished in the Top 10 twice in the Round of 16, so have things turned around for him? We’ll wait and see. The stats for Ross at Texas are beyond dismal but you have to consider he has only 1 start in a non-underfunded car. So your guess is as good as mine when trying to figure out what to expect from Ross at Texas.

After his championship run last year most people expected a better season for Kyle Larson. He is Top 10 in all 2022 ranks for the stats above, which shows he has had a good 2022 season though. Larson’s Texas statistics are not as good as most would think having finished in the Top 15 8 times, which is only a little above half of his races here. The stats show he either finished Top 15 or outside the Top 20 in all of his Texas races. If he avoids trouble and finishes the race look for Larson to do well in the stages and to have a Top 15 run.

William Byron was the first driver to 2 Wins in 2022… He still only has 2 Wins. His 2022 stats are not that good, he has good stage stats though. This shows me he has had good cars just hasn’t finished the races out. He had 3 Top 10’s in the first round of the playoffs showing the results he had early in season. His Texas stats are alright. His only time finishing outside the Top 20 was a DNF. The stats say as long as he finishes then he will get a Top 20 and with the momentum he is riding look for Byron to be in the Top 10 most likely.

Denny Hamlin’s 2022 season stats are not too pretty to look at. He did however finish in the Top 10 in all 3 races in the first round including, two second place finishes and finished 2nd in the All-Star race here earlier this year. To go along with that momentum Toyota has been great on bigger tracks this year. Looking at his stats from Texas he has 3 Wins but has finished in Top 10 less than 50% of the time. I foresee this being one of those Top 10’s this weekend though with the possibility of a 4th Win at Texas for Hamlin.

Christopher Bell has had what could be the second best season this year when looking at Top 5’s, Top 10’s and Stages. It has been a quiet season for Bell but he has impressed after a slow start. Like I said about Denny Hamlin, he is in a Toyota and they have been fast on big tracks this year. Bell did so well in the Round of 16 that he clinched a spot in this round before Bristol, it makes sense when seeing he finished Top 5 in all three races. His Texas stats while small are very nice looking with 2 Top 3’s. All of this I said put together I see Bell as a contender for the Win unless something happens to his car Sunday.

Ryan Blaney has 1 Win this year and it happened to be at Texas, I think everyone remembers that race. If you look at his 2022 stats without Wins, Top 2’s and Top 3’s he is rivaling Chase Elliott for the best season. This follows along with his Texas stats. He has great Stage stats and everything but Wins and Top 3’s. Based on the 2022 season and Texas stats Ryan Blaney has, I’d look for him to run in the Top 10 all race and finish there if his car doesn’t break. With a little luck this could be the race he gets it all together at Texas and wins.

For Chase Briscoe if you want to think his season has been good look at only the Wins, Poles and Stage Wins stats because beyond that it’s been very bad. Even in the first round Chase Briscoe couldn’t buy a Top 10, but yet here he is in the Round of 12. His only regular season race at Texas resulted in a 15th place finish with 2 Stage Top 10’s. Based on this season I don’t see this Texas result being any better if he gets 15th that should be considered a good run.

Alex Bowman has had a good amount of Top 10’s this year but that is about as good as it gets. There isn’t much else to look at. He did however finish 6th in the All-Star race. He also had 2 Top 10’s in the first round of the playoffs which was a good surprise for this team. His Texas stats say that this good mojo will come to an end. Alex has finished outside the Top 20 in over half his races at Texas, so based on the stats this race may be one to forget for Bowman fans with a Top 20 being considered as good as a win.

I’ll admit it when I looked at the stats from Daniel Suarez 2022 season I was shocked. It seems he has had a better season than the stats indicate. But he is in the Round of 12 nonetheless. He won Stage 3 here in the All-Star Open race so he knows what it is like to win here. His races here otherwise have been not too great so with these stats I can’t say I expect much from Suarez this weekend.

Austin Cindric’s year has been about what you would expect from a rookie. He got the win in the Daytona 500 and since then it has been a struggle. He finished 3rd at Texas in the All-Star race and that is the only data we have to go on as he has never raced here in a Cup car. Austin did not have a Top 10 in any of the 3 races or 6 Stages of the first round of the playoffs but got into this round anyway. Based on his season and first round I do not expect much from Cindric. Top 15 at best.
