2022 Season:
Entering his third season in the #47 Chevrolet, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and JTG-Daugherty Racing looked for a large improvement on the 2021 season. With sponsors Kroger and the Scott brands returning, as well as crew chief Brian Pattie, the team was loaded and ready to head to Daytona on the upswing.
While the 47 team and Stenhouse did improve numbers-wise, scoring 3 more Top 10’s than the previous season, performance seemed to dip slightly once the new season started to set in. Pattie & Stenhouse, both noted for their superspeedway prowess, bookmarked these events on the schedule as possible strong runs…however the duo would finish no better than 22nd (twice).Â
Consistent mid-pack finishes would be the story of the season for Stenhouse and crew, as the 47 would be found finishing in the 20s most weeks, with the exception coming in a mid-season run from Dover through the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. The team would rip off a string of 2nd, 8th, 8th, and 7th in four races. The lone other Top 10 would come in the seasons second race in California, where Stenhouse would finish a solid 10th.
Inconsistency plagued Stenhouse in 2022, as the team would only lead 77 laps all season, and collected 9 DNFs, three of which came in the 4 traditional superspeedway starts (Talladega and Daytona).
2023:
With Stenhouse signed to a multi-year extension through 2024, and sponsor Kroger expected to return, look for Stenhouse to take a shot at the 2023 playoffs, as well as get Stenhouse his first win since 2017.

This has been my favorite team for long time. Hopefully 2023 will be more consistent. New Crew Chief in 2023.
Agree 100%! They need to keep good runs when they start them though. That was the biggest downfall during the season
