Welcome, this is the fourth post of a week and a half or so series reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Xfinity series has done in the 2022 season (min. 15 races started). Each part will contain 3-5 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or car manufacturer as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2022 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2022 with season ranking since the Xfinity Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2022 short track (under 1.0 mile), small track (1.0-1.3 mile), intermediate track (1.3-1.5 mile), big track (2-2.5 mile), road course and superspeedway (drafting tracks). Then I will give a brief summary/review, finally ending with a grade A+ thru F-.
Next up is the team that had a surprise contender this year and a former driver, Richard Childress Racing drivers and Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport driver.

Summary
Austin Hill had the most surprising season of anyone scoring 2 Wins in his rookie year and taking home rookie of the year honors. When looking at Hill’s 2022 stats you see all but 3 of his 2022 ranks above are either 5th or 6th, and where did he finish in points? 6th. This shows how consistent Hill was as does his 11.0 average finish, 11 Top 5’s and 21 Top 10’s to only 2 DNF’s. Another thing that shows this is his run of 8 straight Top 10’s at one point this season. In the playoffs Hill was just as consistent with an average finish of 11.14 and while he only scored 1 Top 5 he got 5 Top 10’s in 7 races. He also did better in stages tying for the most Stage Points at 74. Even Hill’s tracks statistics are consistent as all of his average finishes are between 8.5 and 13.33. His best tracks were Superspeedways where he got 2 Wins, 3 Top 2’s, a 9.83 average finish and 6.0 Stage Pts Per Stage in 6 races. Hill was also good at Short tracks where he had an 8.5 average finish and 3 Top 10’s in 4 races. Hill’s worst tracks were Small tracks as it was the only track style without a Top 5 for him. Altogether Hill had a really good season and I gave him an A- because of how well he did in his first year. Next year I see Hill being a contender for wins on a consistent basis and a Championship 4 birth possibly.

Summary
Sheldon Creed tied for the most DNF’s in the Xfinity Series this year at 9 but despite this still had a 17.45 average finish. Creed had flashes of brilliance this year though and ended the season with 13 Top 10’s and came close to a few wins, essentially he was either out of the race or finished Top 10 for the most part. He got it together more in the playoffs as he had a 13.86 average finish and 3 Top 10’s in the 7 races, but only had 22 Stage Points(1.57 Stage Pts Per Stage). More positive news for Creed was that he ended the year with 2 straight Top 10’s, hopefully leading to some momentum for next year. Creed’s tracks stats aren’t great but his worst was Short tracks by far. At these he got a 2nd place finish, but that was his only Top 15 in 4 races which led to him to be tied with Kyle Weatherman at a 22.75 average finish. As bad as that is his Small track stats were just the opposite as these were his best. At Small tracks Creed averaged a 8.25 finish and got 3 Top 10’s and 4 Top 15’s in 4 starts. Altogether Creed struggled this year, but it was his rookie season and was competitive late so if he can stay on track next year I can see him making the playoffs.

Summary
After having a playoff run last year with RCR I expected Myatt Snider to be better than he was this year, I mean 4 Top 10’s is less than Brett Moffitt who only ran 21 races. The one shining bright spot for Snider was a rainy road course race where he won a stage and finished 2nd, this race definitely helped his average finish or else it would have been worse than 21.91 by quite a bit. As bad as all this is though his playoffs were even worse. Snider did not record a Top 10 or Stage T10 in the playoffs, and with 0 DNF’s and an average finish of 21.14 this shows he was just bad and it wasn’t a result of not finishing races. For some positivity in Snider’s season we can look at his Road Course stats, these were his best tracks as he had a 20.0 average finish with 2 Top 10’s and 3 Top 15’s in 6 races. Now to more bad news we can look at his Small track stats where he had a 26.25 average finish, which is worse than J.J. Yeley, Joe Graf Jr. and David Starr. After a strong run last year I am sure this year was a disappointment for Snider and will need to do better if he wants to get back into a top tier ride.
