Welcome, this is the seventh post of a week and a half or so series reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Xfinity series has done in the 2022 season (min. 15 races started). Each part will contain 3-5 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or car manufacturer as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2022 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2022 with season ranking since the Xfinity Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2022 short track (under 1.0 mile), small track (1.0-1.3 mile), intermediate track (1.3-1.5 mile), big track (2-2.5 mile), road course and superspeedway (drafting tracks). Then I will give a brief summary/review, finally ending with a grade A+ thru F-.
Next up is a team still relatively new to NASCAR, Our Motorsports drivers.

Summary
In his first season with Our Motorsports Anthony Alfredo was kind of mediocre as he finished 15th in points and had a 19.27 average finish. In his 33 starts he only had 1 Top 5 and 4 Top 10’s, for perspective his half teammate Brett Moffitt got 5 Top 10’s in only 21 starts. One bright spot for Alfredo was that he got 11 Stage T10’s and racked up a healthy 46 Stage Points. More good news for Alfredo fans is that his playoff average finish of 18.71 was better than his overall 2022 average, but not by much. However the bad news is Alfredo only acquired 4 Stage Points in the 7 playoff races and got just 1 Top 10. To keep the emotional rollercoaster going lets go to more good news. In 3 Big track races Alfredo had an average finish of 11.67 (10th best) and got 2 Top 15’s with one of them being his lone Top 5, this made Big tracks his best tracks this year. Now back to bad news, Alfredo’s worst tracks were Small tracks. In 4 races on Small tracks this year Alfredo averaged a 29.0 finish, which was worst among all drivers with multiple starts on a Small track. All in all Alfredo had a season he can build on next year and with more consistency contend for a playoff spot, assuming he is with a decent team next year.

Summary
Jeb Burton was 1 of only 4 drivers to run 15+ Xfinity races this year and not record a Top 10, he also was the only driver to run 30+ races and not record one. His average finish of 20.94 isn’t great but not awful either and with 8 DNF’s he should be grateful it wasn’t worse than that. In the playoffs Burton obviously did not get any Top 10’s but he did have an average finish of 16.14 and 0 DNF’s. This shows me that when Burton stayed on track for the entire race he could finish decent. Burton’s best tracks this year were Short tracks where he had 3 Top 15’s in 4 races including his season best finish of 11th, he also got 1.38 Stage Pts Per Stage and had a 17.25 average finish. Burton’s worst tracks were Road Courses as in 6 races he had 0 Top 15’s and only 1 Top 20 finish. Furthermore his average finish of 28.33 ranked last among drivers who ran all 6 Road Course races. Altogether Burton’s season was disappointing and not recording a Top 10 when 55 other drivers did is not acceptable. Wherever Burton lands next year he will surely have to do better than he did this year to remain in decent rides in this sport.

Summary
Brett Moffit’s 2022 season came to an abrupt halt after 20 races due to sponsorship issues, he then ran 1 race later for SS-Green Light Racing. In those 21 races though Moffitt wasn’t too bad as he acquired an 18.0 average finish and more Top 10’s than his teammates above ending the season with 5. The weak point for him was his stages where he only had 7 Stage T10’s and just 16 Stage Points. Moffitt didn’t race in the playoffs so I’ll move on to his track stats. His best tracks were Intermediates where in 6 races he got 3 Top 10’s and only finished outside the Top 15 once. All of this together gave Moffitt an impressive 13.5 average finish which ranked 20th out of 72 drivers who made a start on an Intermediate track. On the other hand Short tracks were awful for him, in the 2 races Moffitt raced on a Short track his best finish was 25th and his average finish was 31.0. All in all Moffitt wouldn’t have made the playoffs most likely if he ran all the races, but there is no doubt he ran better than his teammates. If he can get a decent ride next year I can see him being a playoff contender, depending on the ride of course.
