Welcome, this is the eighth post of a week and a half or so series reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Xfinity series has done in the 2022 season (min. 15 races started). Each part will contain 3-5 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or car manufacturer as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2022 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2022 with season ranking since the Xfinity Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2022 short track (under 1.0 mile), small track (1.0-1.3 mile), intermediate track (1.3-1.5 mile), big track (2-2.5 mile), road course and superspeedway (drafting tracks). Then I will give a brief summary/review, finally ending with a grade A+ thru F-.
Next up another hodgepodge of teams with a driver who ran part time, Brandonbilt Motorsports driver, Jesse Iwuji Motorsports driver and Alpha Prime Racing driver.

Summary
It is a shame Brandon Brown couldn’t finish out the season with his 68 team as his stats (especially average finish and DNF’s) suffered because of it. Brown ended up this year with a 21.42 average finish, 2 Top 5’s, 4 Top 10’s, 9 DNF’s and 52 Stage Points. One thing that is nice to see is that in the 2022 ranks above he only ranks worse than 20th in 2 categories, Top 2’s and DNF’s. In the playoffs Brown ran 5 races and his average finish of 26.6 was really hurt by 2 DNF’s he had. A nice thing is that he did have 6 Stage Points in the playoffs though. In terms of tracks Brown was especially good at Big tracks this year, in the 3 races on them Brown finished 11th, 13th and 13th which shows massive consistency. In fact, his 12.33 average finish was better the likes of Austin Hill, Ryan Sieg and Sam Mayer. Also a shout out to the fact he got 3.25 Stage Pts Per Stage at Superspeedways. In terms of bad tracks the Road Courses were Brown’s worst. Here he averaged a 25.33 finish and only had 1 Top 15 with 3 DNF’s in 6 races. In total Brown’s season wasn’t great but it was on a good trajectory in the 68 car, if Brown can get back in that car or another decent one I see him having a better season next year.

Summary
Kyle Weatherman drove only 23 races this year. In those 23 races he got 2 Top 10’s and 5 Stage Top 10’s, but also had 5 DNF’s. All of this culminated to give him an average finish of 21.61, which could have been much better if it weren’t for all those DNF’s. Despite having a DNF in 40% of his playoff races Weatherman’s average finish of 20.0 was still better than his overall 2022 average, and while he didn’t record a Top 10 in the playoffs he did get 2 Stage Top 10’s. In terms of different tracks for Weatherman his best styles were Big tracks. While there were only 3 on the schedule he ran all 3 and never finished worse than 19th. Unfortunately he didn’t finish better than 16th either which gave him a 17.0 average finish, but at least he was consistently decent at Big tracks. Weatherman was also consistent at Road Courses, but not in the good way. In his 2 starts he had finishes of 22nd and 30th which is a 26.0 average finish and made Road Courses his worst track. Overall Weatherman’s season was okay, but we all know he should be in the 34 full-time. If he can be full-time next year I see him having more consistent runs and a better average finish with a few more Top 10’s.

Summary
Stefan Parsons’ 2022 season was a mixed bag as far as what team/number he was driving each week. This probably didn’t help and partially contributed to his low 23.17 average finish where he had only 1 Top 10 with 5 DNF’s. In the playoffs Parsons ran 6 of the 7 races and had an even worse average finish of 25.67 with 2 DNF’s. That’s about it as far as Parsons’ stats go, so on we go to the track stats. While none of his track stats are all that good his best tracks overall were Road Courses, in 4 races Parsons accumulated a 20.5 average finish with 1 Top 15. Parsons’ worst tracks were Small tracks I’d say where he had 3 chances and the best he did was 21st. His average finish was 26.33 which ranked 44th out of 57 qualified drivers. Altogether this season was a struggle for Parsons, but when piecing together a schedule like he had to do its hard to do good. Next year if Parsons can stick with one team I could see him getting a better average finish, but not by much, and that’s about it.
