Driver Spotlight: Parker Kligerman (2022 Season in Review)

Parker Kligerman finally got his second chance at a big break in 2022, and he certainly delivered. Kligerman who has been seen working the broadcasts for NBC recently, only has run a handful of races the last few seasons split amongst NASCAR’s Top 3 series for various teams.

Kligerman will be running a full-time Xfinity Series schedule in 2023, in addition to returning to the Truck Series for another limited schedule. Last season, Kligerman ran a total of 16 races total in all 3 series, collecting one win, 4 Top 5’s and 9 Top 10’s.

Kligerman returned in 2022 to Henderson Motorsports for a 6th part-time season. Kligerman and crew chief Chris Carrier took the #75 Food Country USA entry to a career season in 2022, as the duo would not only collect 4 Top 5’s and 8 Top 10’s together, but earned Kligerman’s first win in the series since 2017. The small team was impressive in 2022, as this all came in only 12 starts.

Driving a mix of Toyotas and Chevrolets, Kligerman scored Top 5’s in the opener at Daytona, as well as both Bristol races. The season also included a win on the road-course in Mid-Ohio.

    • 2022 O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 (Mid-Ohio): Kligerman and the #75 Food Country USA Chevrolet had an impressive weekend in Mid-Ohio. Kligerman qualified his truck a strong second, lead 56 of 67 laps, and earned himself and his team’s first series victory since 2017, when the duo won together in Talladega.

Kligerman also saw some Xfinity Series seat time in 2022, as he ran two races for Emerling-Gase Motorsports, and one for Big Machine Racing.

Kligerman’s Xfinity Series season began with race 6 at COTA, where Kligerman wheeled the #35 Toyota for Emerling-Gase Motorsports to a strong 12th place finish after starting 11th. Kligerman returned to the #35 (this time a Chevrolet) on the Indianapolis road course, where he finished 37th after an accident.

Becoming one of a loaded line-up of drivers that wheeled the #48 Big Machine Spiked Coolers Chevrolet, Kligerman got his turn at Talladega. The team ran strong all weekend, as Kligerman finished 6th in his debut with the team.

Rick Ware Racing put Kligerman behind the wheel of their #15 Scott Credit Union Ford for the Cup Series’ debut at World Wide Technology Raceway. Kligerman qualified the Rick Ware entry 36th and brought his Mustang home on the lead lap in 31st. This was Kligerman’s solo Cup Series outing for 2022.

2023 Season Preview: In late October, it was announced that Kligerman would be going full-time Xfinity Series racing in 2023, returning to Big Machine Racing to wheel the #48 Chevrolet. He is also set to make another limited Truck Series run with Henderson Motorsports, in the #75 Food Country USA Chevrolet.
