I have picked 8 notable drivers to look at, 1 based on the 2022 point standings, 2 based on 2022 stats, 2 based on Superspeedway stats, 1 based on the last Daytona race and 2 based on their overall Daytona stats. Here is a look at those 8 notable drivers 2022 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2022 with ranking through 23 races since the Chase started in 2016. Outlook
Zane Smith pretty much dominated the 2022 Truck season and is notable because of winning the championship last year. Like I said Smith dominated last year and the stats back up how good he was, all of his 2022 ranks above are 5th or better and most of them are 1st or 2nd at that. In fact Smith’s 9 Top 2’s are tied for the most in a season since 2016 and his 7.7 Avg. Finish is the 5th best in a season since 2016. Smith is also on a 2 race Top 2 finish streak as well heading into this year and the funny thing is based on the stats that could realistically be extended at Daytona. Last year at Superspeedways Smith had a 7.67 Avg. Finish and a 93.6 Avg. Driver Rating in the 3 Superspeedway races, both of which ranked 4th. Smith also completed every single lap on them as well, but he only led 1.19% of the laps. At the Daytona race last year Smith won after leading only 3 laps, but he was in the Top 15 for all but 1 lap showing that he was near the front all day. This race was not all that typical of Smith at Daytona though where he’s only ran 58.47% of his laps in the Top 15. That Win was also Smith’s first Daytona Top 10 even though he’s completed all laps in his 3 races here. Overall it’s hard to handicap Smith this weekend but he’s riding high and I think will mix it up around the front all race, but ends up caught in a wreck and finishing outside the Top 20.

Outlook
Ben Rhodes finished 2nd in the championship last year but is notable because of his superb Superspeedway stats. Even though Rhodes finished 2nd in points last year his stats aren’t all that pretty, his 11.65 Avg. Finish was 8th in the 2022 ranks and his 94.22 Avg. Driver Rating was 9th. Rhodes only had 1 Win but what helped him finish 2nd in the championship was his 6 Top 2’s. Heading into this year Rhodes is on a 3 race Top 10 streak and could extend that when you look at how he faired at Superspeedways last year. In 2022 Rhodes finished 2nd in all 3 Superspeedway races while having the 2nd highest Avg. Driver Rating at 101.77. In the 2022 Daytona Truck race Rhodes obviously finished 2nd, but also finished 2nd in Stage 2. In the race he ran 85.85% of the laps in the Top 15 but only led 6 laps which led to him getting a decent 100.3 Avg. Driver Rating. Overall here at Daytona Rhodes has raced 7 times with 1 Win, 2 Top 2’s, 4 Top 10’s and an Avg. Finish of 9.29. One stat I find funny is that Rhodes has 1 finish outside the Top 15 but 2 DNF’s, so even when he doesn’t finish he still finishes well haha. This weekend I see Rhodes doing about what he usually does here, he’ll be up front and while he may not lead lots of laps he will be Top 15 most the race. At the end of the day I see Rhodes coming home with a solid 5th-10th place finish.

Outlook
Grant Enfinger is notable because of his pretty good stats at Daytona. Last year Enfinger made it into the playoffs on points, but took care of that goose egg in the Win column in the first playoff race.
