These numbers should remain the same for Hill after this weekend in the fact that he has 0 Top 5’s in the last 5 Small track races, but he does have 3 Top 10’s leading to a 10.8 Avg. Finish. Furthermore he has run 82% of his laps in the Top 15 but only has the 17th best Avg. Driver Rating at 89.08 with just 1 Stage Pt Per Stage. Last year at Dover was one of his worse race in that span as he ran all 200 laps in the Top 15, but only finished 14th with the 11th best Driver Rating at 84.2. In addition he got just 1 Stage Pt so it appears he ran Top 15 a lot but not Top 10. This was Hill’s first and only race here so without further ado I’ll get to my prediction for him. Based on the stats I see Hill having a decent day, running Top 15 most the day, but only finishing 7th-15th.

John Hunter Nemechek is notable because of how he’s done this year. At Talladega on Saturday Nemechek was one of many to get caught up in a wreck and thus he finished 32nd. This was his 1st DNF this year and it hurt his Avg. Finish but it still sits at 9.44, the best Avg. Finish of any driver with 5+ starts this year. Also the best is his 107.38 Avg. Driver Rating, his 4 Top 2’s/3’s/5’s, and 7 Top 10’s. Also impressive is his 87.04 Laps in Top15%, ranks 2nd, and his 2 Wins that also rank 2nd. Nemechek’s 2022/23 Small track Avg. Finish of 16.0 is a little misleading as he’s only had 3 starts and one of them was a 37th place finish. His other 2 starts have been Top 10’s with 1 being a Top 5 though. In addition he’s led 6.21% of the laps he’s run in the 3 races and has ran 95% of his laps in the Top 15. His 37th place finish came here at Dover, unfortunately, but fortunately for Nemechek it was not a performance issue as his brakes were the reason for this. Even better is that before he went out of the race he ran all but 1 of his laps in the Top 15 and finished 5th in Stage 1. This was his 6th race at Dover and overall he has an 18.0 Avg. Finish with 3 Top 10’s and an 83.5 Avg. Driver Rating, but also 0 Top 5’s. This does not bode well for Nemechek this weekend but he has ran 89% of his laps in the Top 15 here. Outlook
Justin Allgaier is notable because of his race at Dover last year. Last week Allgaier was caught up in the wreck that also took out his teammates, Sam Mayer and Josh Berry, causing him to finish 28th. This was Allgaier’s 3rd DNF this year which has his Avg. Finish at 13.89, only 8th best. In addition, he’s only ran 75% of his laps in the Top 15 this year. Allgaier does have the 5th best Avg. Driver Rating though at 96.04 and his 3 Top 3’s, 4 Top 5’s, 4 Stage Wins, and 79 Stage Pts rank either 1st or 2nd. All of these stats will probably be better after this week as in the last 5 Small track races Allgaier has 1 Win, 3 Top 3’s, and 4 Top 10’s, but his lone non-Top 10 was a 36th place DNF making his Avg. Finish 10.4. He does however have the 5th best Avg. Driver Rating at 111.98, has ran 95% of his laps in the Top 15, led 17% of his laps, has 3 Stage Wins, and 6.0 Stage Pts Per Stage. One of the better races he had was here at Dover last year where he finished 2nd in Stage 1, 1st in Stage 2, and 2nd in the race. Outlook
Cole Custer is notable because of how his 6 career Xfinity races at Dover have gone. Last week Custer avoided the carnage to win the Dash 4 Cash and finish 4th in the race. Driver Rating, and ran 82.5% of his laps in the Top 15. Based on what I said earlier Custer obviously didn’t race at Dover last year so there isn’t any data there, but in his 6 career Xfinity Dover races he’s been really good. In those races he has 1 Win, 2 Top 2’s, 4 Top 5’s, and a worst finish of only 13th. All of this has his Avg. Finish at 5.33, 5th best among drivers with 1+ Xfinity start this year. Sammy Smith is notable because of his 2 Small track races in the last 2 years. Last week was not good to Sammy as he got his 1st DNF this year and finished 33rd. Overall on the year Sammy has been good for a rookie as he has a 14.56 Avg. Finish and a 93.24 Avg. Driver Rating, both ranking 10th or better in the 2023 Ranks above. He even has 1 Win, 2 Top 2’s, and 3 Top 5’s. However, it still feels like a bit of a disappointing start for him probably due to the fact he only has 3 Top 10’s and has ran just 61% of his laps in the Top 15. The good news is that this week we head to a Small track where he has ran 2 races since the start of 2022 finishing 1st and 10th in the races. He has ran 85% of his laps in the Top 15 as well and led 25.5% of the laps also. As if this isn’t enough to show how good he’s been, his 122.4 Avg. Driver Rating at Small tracks is the best of any driver since the start of 2022, and he’s gotten 6.25 Stage Pts Per Stage. This puts his Avg. Finish now at 8.5 and his Avg. Driver Rating at 93.08 in the 4 races he’s ran with 1 Top 2 and 2 Top 3’s, but also just 2 Top 10’s. Like Cole Custer above Truex has only ran 1 Small track Xfinity race since the start of 2022, and that was at Phoenix earlier this year so it doesn’t tell us much.
