AdventHealth 400
The AdventHealth 400 gave NASCAR Cup Series fans a caution-filled day at Kansas Speedway. After nine yellow flags for incidents spanning the three stages, drivers finally calmed down enough to run a clean 51-lap stretch to bring the race to a thrilling conclusion.
With 20 laps remaining in the race, Denny Hamlin started to zero in on race leader, Kyle Larson.
Lap after lap, Hamlin would inch closer but on the exit of each corner, Larson would have the advantage.
Rich MARvelous Move of the Race
Teams took the white flag and fans started to wonder if Hamlin had missed his chance.
However, on the backstretch, Hamlin got into the left rear of Larson. This contact got Larson nearly sideways.

His next actions earned Hamlin the Rich MARvelous Move of the Race.
Hamlin took advantage of Larson’s loose No. 5 Camaro and sped off into the Kansas sunset, claiming his first win of the 2023 Cup season.
It certainly begs the question – Could Hamlin have still won without the contact? We will never know, but he did what he needed to at the moment and he is the one holding the checkered flag at the end of the race.
Post-Race Comments (and Altercations)
While Hamlin was doing a celebratory burnout, Larson was recapping the closing laps for FOX. Mid-sentence, Larson started to chuckle. It turns out, he had a front-row seat to the post-race scuffle on pit road between Noah Gragson and Ross Chastain.
