Ryan Blaney is notable because he’s the points leader thru 15 races. Last week at Gateway Blaney ran up front all race, as expected, but ultimately finished 6th. This finish leaves Blaney with the best Avg. Finish in the 2023 Ranks above at 11.33 and his 91.99 Avg. Driver Rating isn’t bad either at 5th best. Gateway was also his 3rd straight Top 10 and 9th Top 10 overall. On the year he’s ran 75.54% of his laps in the Top 15, has 1 Win, 4 Top 3’s, 2 Stage Wins, and 98 Stage Pts. Furthermore all of his stats are 9th or better in the 2023 Ranks above, but this week is a Road Course. In the last 7 Road Course races Blaney has a 17.14 Avg. William Byron is notable because of his impressive 2023 stats. Byron wasn’t bad last week, but wasn’t as good as he’s been this year either, as he finished 7th. However, this did extend his Top 10 streak to 6 races and improved his Avg. Finish to 12.2, 4th best. This is one of his worst rankings in the 2023 Ranks above as all but his Avg. Finish, Completed Laps%, and 2 DNF’s rank 1st or T1st in the 2023 Ranks above. This includes his 104.89 Avg. Driver Rating, 3 Wins, 5 Top 3’s, 7 Top 5’s, 7 Stage Wins, and 157 Stage Pts. In fact his 7 Stage Wins are the 4th most thru 15 races in Cup history. This success may be hard to replicate this weekend, though, as in the last 7 Road Course races Byron’s Avg. Finish is 15.86 with 2 Top 10’s, and he’s only ran 50.59% of his laps in the Top 15. Furthermore he has the 10th best Avg. Outlook
Tyler Reddick is notable because of his stats in the 2022/23 Road Course races. Last week Reddick was one of the unfortunate brake rotor victims causing him to wreck and finish 35th. This was Reddick’s 3rd DNF this year and raised his Avg. Finish to 15.4. In all this year he’s ran 70.47% of his laps in the Top 15, has the 11th best Avg. Driver Rating at 88.61, 1 Win, 3 Top 3’s, 5 Top 5’s, and 7 Top 10’s. The best news for Reddick is that the win he has this year came on a Road Course, which is where we head this weekend. In fact in the last 7 Road Course races he has the best Avg. Driver Rating at 115.9, the best Avg. Finish at 8.29, and the most Wins at 3. In addition he’s ran 85.62% of his laps in the Top 15, has led 20.3% of his laps, 4 Top 5’s, and 6 Top 10’s with his only finish out of the Top 10 being a 35th due to brake problems. Unfortunately for Reddick that 35th place finish and brake problem happened here at Sonoma last year. Even with this problem he still ran 55.67% of his laps in the Top 15 and had the 15th best Driver Rating at 72.7. This was Reddick’s 2nd race at Sonoma and the first wasn’t good either as his two finishes here have been 19th and 35th. In addition he’s only ran 51.32% of his laps in the Top 15, has a 70.75 Avg. Driver Rating, and has 0 laps led. I see this weekend going better for Reddick, but I still don’t expect a win. I do think he runs good, though, but he either finishes 5th-10th or out of the Top 20.

Driver Rating, and has 0 laps led. I see this weekend going better for Reddick, but I still don’t expect a win. I do think he runs good, though, but he either finishes 5th-10th or out of the Top 20.
