William Byron is notable because of how good he’s run in the 2023 season thru 19 races. Byron had an up and down day at Atlanta as he spun out and ran only 51% of his laps in the Top 15 before winding up in victory lane. This was Byron’s series leading 4th Win, 5th Top 2, 6th Top 3, and 8th Top 5. In addition he leads the series in the following categories as well: Stage Wins (7), Stage T10’s (26), Stage Pts (185), Playoff Pts (27), and Avg. Driver Rating (101.65). In fact only 2 of his 2023 Ranks above aren’t 1st or 2nd, which speaks to just how dominant of a season he is having. The good stats for Byron continue when you look at his 2023 Small track stats as he has the 2nd best Avg. Finish (4.33) and the best Avg. Driver Rating (122.37). In addition he’s ran 98.85% of his laps in the Top 15, led 30% of his laps with 1 Win, 2 Top 5’s, and a worst finish of 8th. Unfortunately Byron was not as good at New Hampshire last year as he finished 11th with the 10th best Driver Rating (88.3). However, good new from the race is that he got 4 Stage Pts and ran 96% of his laps in the Top 15. This is typical of Byron here as in 5 starts he has a 13.8 Avg. Finish, 0 Top 10’s, and a best of 11th. Furthermore he’s ran 70.72% of his laps in the Top 15 here, has led 0 laps, has a 79.22 Avg. Driver Rating, and only 4 Stage T10’s in 10 stages. In all New Hampshire is just not good for Byron and for that reason I see him finishing between 7th and 18th.

Martin Truex Jr. is notable because of how he ran in the 2022 New Hampshire race. Last week Truex had issues late that caused his decent run to finish P29. This race caused his Avg. Finish to rise to 12.95 (4th best) with his Laps in Top 15% and Avg. Driver Rating both getting worse as well as they sit at 76.52% (3rd best) and 96.93 (2nd best). However, these along with all of his other 2023 Ranks above aren’t bad as his worst is T11th (1 Stage Win) and that is his only ranking worst than 5th, but he also doesn’t rank 1st in any category either. Small tracks have brought similar success for Truex this year as in the 3 races he has 1 Win, 2 Top 5’s, an Avg. Finish of 7.67 (T3rd best), and a 92.97 Avg. Driver Rating (8th best). Still, it’s not all good news as he has ran just 61% of his laps in the Top 15, has gotten 0 Stage Wins, and only acquired 2.67 Stage Pts Per Stage. Last year at New Hampshire Truex was class of the field as he won the Pole, won Stage 1 and 2, ran all 301 laps in the Top 15, led 172 laps (57.14%), and ended the day with the best Avg. Driver Rating (136.9). Unfortunately for him the end wasn’t as good as he ended the race in 4th place, his 8th Top 5 in 29 races here. Even with these 8 Top 5’s Truex’s best finish is only 3rd, but he does have 14 Top 10’s and an 11.69 Avg. Finish with a 96.26 Avg. Driver Rating. Overall this weekend I see Truex running well, but not winning as he comes home between 3rd and 15th.

Kyle Busch is notable because he’s 3rd in points thru 19 races. At Atlanta Busch squeaked out his 2nd Top 5 in a row as he finished 5th after running just 28% of his laps in the Top 15. This helped Busch keep the best Avg. Finish title for now at 11.21, but he also leads the series in Top 2’s (5) and Top 10’s (12). Other than this his 2023 Ranks above are a mixed bag as he has ran just 63.37% of his laps in the Top 15 (11th best), has an 88.82 Avg. Driver Rating (6th best), 3 Wins (2nd best), and 3 DNF’s (T23rd best). However, there is one more thing Busch leads in as he has 7 straight Top 10 finishes, the longest such streak this year. Busch’s 2023 Small track stats have been the same as his overall 2023 stats as he has a 10.0 Avg. Finish (5th best) and a 98.37 Avg. Driver Rating (4th best). However, he’s also ran just 57% of his laps in the Top 15, has 1 Top 5 (a Win), and a worst finish of 21st. The good news is that his stage stats are better at Small tracks as he has 1 Stage Win and 3.33 Stage Pts Per Stage. However, back the good news train up because last year at New Hampshire Busch ran just 43% of his laps in the Top 15, led 0 laps, had the 13th best Driver Rating (77.2), and finished 12th. This was Busch’s 31st race here and in those races he has 3 Wins and 7 Top 2’s, but also just 16 Top 10’s with 9 finishes out of the Top 20 leading to a 14.19 Avg. Finish. This weekend I see Busch running decent most of the race, but finishing either 1st-3rd or 9th-15th.

Christopher Bell is notable because of his 2023 stats. Bell had an up and down race at Atlanta that ultimately ended in a down as he finished 23rd. After this race Bell now has the 5th best Avg. Finish (13.53), Laps in Top15% (72.5%), Avg. Driver Rating (91.11), and Stage Pts (132). In all this year he has 1 Win, 3 Top 3’s, 5 Top 10’s, and 10 Top 10’s to go along with his series lead tying 26 Stage T10’s. At Small tracks this year Bell has been decent, but not great, as he has 0 Top 5’s in the 3 races but does have 2 Top 10’s, and is tied for the 3rd best Avg. Finish at 7.67. In addition he’s gotten 2.83 Stage Pts Per Stage, been in the Top 15 for 83% of his laps, but ago has only led 0.1% of his laps ran as well. However, it’s not all bad for Bell because NASCAR is headed to New Hampshire this week. Last year here Bell got 7 Stage Pts, ran all 301 laps in the Top 15, led 14% of the race, had the 3rd best Driver Rating (115.9), and won the race. This was Bell’s 3rd Cup start here, 1st Win, and 2nd Top 2. However, his other race here was a 28th place finish, but even with this he still has a 10.33 Avg. Finish, a 101.2 Avg. Driver Rating, and an 83.54% of his laps run in the Top 15. With all this New Hampshire success I definitely think Bell contends for the Win this weekend and finishes somewhere in the Top 5.

Denny Hamlin is notable because of his 2023 Small track stats. Hamlin was another driver who had a lot of ups and downs at Atlanta, in the end finishing P14. This is right on top of Hamlin’s Avg. Finish this year (13.74) which is 6th best on the year. As good as this ranking is his 79.85 Laps in Top 15% and 95.29 Avg. Driver Rating are even better at 1st and 3rd, respectively, in the 2023 Ranks above. In addition he has 4 Stage Wins (ranks 3rd) and 138 Stage Pts (rans 4th), but has trouble finishing races as his 2 Top 2’s, 3 Top 3’s, 5 Top 5’s, and 7 Top 10’s all rank T6th or worse. One style Hamlin has ran and finished well at this year are Small tracks as in the 3 races he has ran 99.58% of his laps in the Top 15, has the 3rd best Driver Rating at 106.97, has gotten 7.17 Stage Pts Per Stage, and is tied for the 5th best Avg. Finish at 10.0 with 1 Top 3 and 2 Top 5’s. The only bad thing about his Small track stats is that he’s only led 0.42% of the laps he’s ran, but that is more than he led at New Hampshire last year. In that race Hamlin led 0 laps, got 1 Stage Pt, ran 84% of his laps in the Top 15, and finished 6th with the 9th best Driver Rating (91.0). This was Hamlin’s 18th Top 10 here in 29 races. Even more impressive is that he has a 9.48 Avg. Finish here, a 103.6 Avg. Driver Rating, 3 Wins, and 9 Top 2’s with 11 Stage T10’s to boot. All told Hamlin will be one to reckon with Sunday coming home in the Top 10 for sure, and probably battling for a Top 5 or even a win.

Ryan Blaney is notable because of his stats in the 3 Small track races this year. At Atlanta Blaney had a fast car, leading 10.8% of the race and spending 93% of the race in the Top 15, finishing 9th. This was Blaney’s 10th Top 10 this year and improved his Avg. Finish to 14.68 (8th best). In addition he has an 86.27 Avg. Driver Rating (9th best), 3 Top 2’s (T4th best), and 4 Top 3’s (T5th best); but he also has only 4 Top 5’s (T11th best). Furthermore he’s gotten 3 Stage Wins this year and has only 1 DNF. The good news keeps coming for Blaney as in the 3 Small track races this year he has the best Avg. Finish at 3.67, the 2nd best Avg. Driver Rating at 115.2, and he’s ran 99.38% of his laps in the Top 15. In addition he’s finished no worse than 6th, has led 8.65% of his laps, has 2 Top 3’s, 1 Stage Win, and 7.17 Stage Pts Per Stage. However, that’s where the good news stop as last year at New Hampshire Blaney ran only 35% of his laps in the Top 15, led 0 laps, had a 62.5 Driver Rating (21st best), and finished 18th. This isn’t uncommon as in 10 races at New Hampshire Blaney has just 2 Top 5’s, 4 Top 10’s, and a 12.8 Avg. Finish. Furthermore he’s ran just 65% of his laps in the Top 15 and has just an 87.82 Avg. Driver Rating. All of this non-success leaves me hesitant about Blaney doing as well as he has in Small track races this year. Therefore I see him finishing between 6th and 12th this weekend.

Kevin Harvick is notable because of his career New Hampshire stats. Atlanta was rough for Harvick as he ran just 29% of his laps in the Top 15 and finished 30th. This has Harvick’s finish at 14.68 now (T8th best) and that unfortunately is one of his better 2023 Ranks above as the only better ones are his 21 Stage T10’s (7th best) and his 1 DNF (T3rd best). However, his ranks aren’t awful, just mediocre as his 82.1 Avg. Driver Rating, 1 Top 2, 1 Top 3, 4 Top 5’s, 7 Top 10’s, and 1 Stage Win are all between T10th and T13th. Fortunately for Harvick his 2023 Small track ranks are better as his 11.33 Avg. Finish is 9th best and his 96.63 Avg. Driver Rating is 6th best. In addition he’s ran 96.56% of his laps in the Top 15, led 3.75% of his laps, has 1 Top 5, 2 Top 10’s, and 3.67 Stage Pts Per Stage. Even better news is that Harvick ran well at New Hampshire last year running all 301 laps in the Top 15, getting 15 Stage Pts in the process. At the end of the race he finished 5th with the 4th best Driver Rating at 114.3. It’s pretty typical for Harvick to have good runs here as he’s gotten 4 Wins, 14 Top 3’s, and 23 Top 10’s in 39 races leading to a 12.23 Avg. Finish. Furthermore he’s ran 78% of his laps here in the Top 15, has a 100.05 Avg. Driver Rating, 11 Stage T10’s, and 4.64 Stage Pts Per Stage. All of this says that despite Harvick’s rough season he will have a decent day on Sunday, finishing somewhere in the Top 10.

Brad Keselowski is notable because of how he’s done in his 22 career starts at New Hampshire. Atlanta provided Keselowski a darn good shot at his first win with RFK, leading 19 laps and finishing P6. This was Keselowski’s 7th Top 10 of the season and now has him at a 15.37 Avg. Finish, 13th best. In addition his 58.41 Laps in Top15%, 0 Wins, 1 Top 3, 2 DNF’s, and 2 Playoff Pts rank 13th as well. However, his stages have been even better as he’s gotten 2 Stage Wins (T6th most) and 17 Stage T10’s (T9th most). Unfortunately for Keselowski Small tracks haven’t been as good he has an 18.0 Avg. Finish in the 3 races with a 73.53 Avg. Driver Rating. Furthermore he only has 1 Top 15 finish, has ran just 64% of his laps in the Top 15, and has only led 0.94% of his laps. However, like Harvick above, the 2023 New Hampshire race is a different story for Keselowski. In the race he ran 67.77% of his laps in the Top 15, had the 12th best Driver Rating (84.5), and finished 7th. This is about right for Keselowski here as in 22 starts he has 2 Wins, 4 Poles, 9 Top 5’s, and 15 Top 10’s with only 3 finishes out of the Top 20. In addition he’s ran 78% of his laps in the Top 15, led 9% of his laps, has a 101.45 Avg. Driver Rating, 2 Stage Wins, 0 DNF’s, and 3.79 Stage Pts Per Stage. With how good Keselowski has been here and how he’s run this season I expect him to finish between 8th and 15th, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a Top 5 either.
