Corey Heim is notable because of his stats in the 12 races he’s competed in this year. At Nashville Heim ran every lap in the Top 15, lead the most laps, got 16 Stage Pts, and finished 4th. This was Heim’s 2nd straight Top 5, 6th straight Top 10, of races he’s ran, and his series leading 10th Top 10 of the year. In addition his 8.08 Avg. Finish, 86.31 Laps in Top15%, 110.15 Avg. Driver Rating, and 5 Stage Wins all are best in the 2023 Ranks above. In addition his 2 Poles, 3 Top 2’s, 16 Stage T10’s, and 123 Stage Pts all rank 2nd best as well. This success he’s had this year may continue when seeing that his 100.15 Avg. Driver Rating on 2022/23 Road Courses is the 5th best Avg. Driver Rating, but when you see that his 16.0 Avg. Finish is 20th best then it’s less convincing. However, he’s only ran 2 Road Course races in that span with finishes of 6th and 26th while running 91.18% of his laps in the Top 15 and getting 5.75 Stage Pts Per Stage. The unfortunate thing for Heim is that the 26th place finish came at Mid-Ohio, but the good thing is that he ran every one of his laps in the Top 15 as he DNF’d near the end of the race due to a transmission failure. Further proof of his success in the race is that he won the pole, got 15 Stage Pts, and despite his bad finish still had the 4th best Driver Rating at 104.0. All of this leads me to believe that if he doesn’t have a mechanical failure Heim will run well and finish Top 10 this weekend.

Zane Smith is notable because of his stats in the last 4 Truck Road Course races. The trend of Top 3 or bust this year continued for Smith at Nashville as he ran well all race, finishing 2nd. This was Smith’s series leading 4th Top 2 and 6th Top 3, but it was also only his 6th Top 5 and 6th Top 10 too. This inconsistency has him at the 6th best Avg. Finish in the 2023 Ranks above at 12.62 as well as the 6th best Laps in Top 15% at 75.22. The good news for him is that he’s ran well as he has the 2nd best Avg. Driver Rating at 101.42, the most Stage T10’s at 20, and the most Stage Pts at 133. However, there is better news in that since the beginning of 2022 Smith has the best Avg. Finish on Road Courses at 1.5. In fact in the 4 races his worst finish is 2nd and he has 2 Wins to boot. Furthermore he’s ran 92.17% of his laps in the Top 15, led 15.22% of his laps, has the 2nd best Avg. Driver Rating at 122.33, 3 Stage Wins, and 6.75 Stage Pts Per Stage. At Mid-Ohio last year Smith ran all 67 laps in the Top 15 en route to a 2nd place finish. In addition he had the 2nd best Avg. Driver Rating at 120.1, led 12% of the race, and got 19 Stage Pts. With this being the only Truck race here that is all the data we have. However, based on this I see a great day ahead for Smith as he’ll get 10+ Stage Pts and finish at worst 5th, with it probably being in the Top 2 as well. Although, if he doesn’t get a Top 5 then it will be a finish out of the Top 15.

Grant Enfinger is notable because of how he’s done in the 2023 season. Enfinger had a semi-rough day at Nashville as he ran between 10th and 15th most the race, finishing 13th. This race worsened Enfinger’s Avg. Finish to 9.62 (still 2nd best) and his Avg. Driver Rating to 95.63 (still 5th best), but it helped his Laps in Top15% as it now sits at 83.04% (2nd best). In addition to these stats he has completed 99.95% of the laps this year (1st best), has 2 Wins (T1st best), 2 Top 2’s (T5th best), 5 Top 5’s (T4th best), 16 Stage T10’s (T2nd best), and 0 DNF’s (T1st best, duh). As a matter of fact all of Enfinger’s 2023 Ranks above are T9th or better with most of those being 4th or better at that. In terms of the last 4 Road Course Truck races, Enfinger has ran decent as all of his finishes have come between 10th and 12th leaving him with an 11.0 Avg. Finish and 1 Top 10. In terms of in race stats he’s ran 70% of his laps in the Top 15, led just 0.43% of his laps, has a 79.48 Avg. Driver Rating, and has gotten 2.25 Stage Pts Per Stage. In the only Truck Mid-Ohio race that happened, last year, Enfinger ran every lap in the Top 15, got 11 Stage Pts, and had the 7th best Driver Rating at 96.3; but he ended up 11th at the finish. Based on all the data I feel Enfinger will have a decent race this weekend and come home somewhere between 8th and 15th.

Ty Majeski is notable because he’s 4th in points. Majeski had a poor day at Nashville as he ran just 22 laps in the Top 15 before an electrical issue on lap 72 caused him to finish 31st. This was Majeski’s 4th finish out of the Top 20 in the last 6 races which has caused his Avg. Finish to plummet to 12.38 (5th best). The good news is that his overall stats are still decent as he has the 4th best Avg. Finish at 96.18, is tied for 3rd most Top 3’s at 3, tied for most Top 5’s at 6, tied for 2nd most Top 10’s at 8, tied for 2nd most Stage T10’s at 16, and he has the 3rd most Stage Pts at 110. As far as Road Courses since the beginning of 2022 go Majeski has been okay. While he has 2 Top 3 finishes those are also his only Top 10 finishes in the 4 races and his Avg. Finish is just 12.0. In addition he’s ran only 67% of his laps in the Top 15, has just the 12th best Avg. Driver Rating at 88.3, and has gotten 2.5 Stage Pts Per Stage. At Mid-Ohio last year Majeski pretty much mirrored these as he finished 12th, ran just 62% of his laps in the Top 15, and had an 83.3 Driver rating that ranked 10th best in the race. With this being all the data there is it leans towards Majeski not really being a factor most of the race and ending up somewhere between 5th and 15th.

Christian Eckes is notable because of his career stats here at Mid-Ohio. Eckes rather either just inside or just outside the Top 10 all race at Nashville, but after getting caught up in a late wreck he finished 23rd. This now gives Eckes more finishes out of the Top 10 (7) than in the Top 10 (6) and has his Avg. Finish at 14.38, tied for 11th best. However his races and Top 10 finishes have been good as he has the 5th best Laps in Top15% at 76.09, the 3rd best Avg. Driver Rating at 98.2, is tied for most Wins at 2, tied for 2nd most Top 2’s at 3, and has the 2nd most Top 3’s and Stage Wins at 4 each. More good news is that Eckes has earned the most Playoff Pts this year at 14, but in bad news he also has 3 DNF’s to his name as well. Even worse is Eckes’ 2022/23 Road Course stats as he has the same amount of Top 10’s as DNF’s (2). Furthermore his 19.0 Avg. Finish is tied for 26th best, his 79.4 Avg. Driver Rating is just 17th best, and he’s only completed 74% of the laps. However, there is a bit of good news in the fact he’s ran 83.53% of his laps in the Top 15, has 1 Stage Win, and has gotten 3.13 Stage Pts Per Stage. Even better than this is that his best race was here at Mid-Ohio last year where Eckes ran all 67 laps in the Top 15, had the 5th best Driver Rating at 101.8, and finished 5th. Based on this I think he does better than his overall Road Course stats say and finishes Top 5, but if it’s not a Top 5 then it’s out of the Top 15.

Carson Hocevar is notable because of his performance last year at Mid-Ohio. Hocevar was superb late at Nashville picking up his 2nd Win of the season, and of his career. In addition to this being his 2nd Win it was also Hocevar’s 5th straight Top 5 finish, but also just his 2nd Top 3 as well. Even with his recent success his Avg. Finish is only tied for 9th best at 14.23 and his Avg. Driver Rating is just 7th best at 90.52. However, he is now tied for the most Top 5’s at 6, has the 4th most Top 10’s at 7, is tied for the 3rd most Stage Wins at 2, and is tied for 2nd most Stage T10’s at 16. It’s not all good, though, as he also has 3 DNF’s and only 89 Stage Pts (6th best). As far as Hocevar’s Road Course stats go, he’s been decent. In the 4 races he has 1 Top 3, a 3rd at Mid-Ohio last year, 3 Top 10’s, and a DNF 34th place finish all leading to a 12.75 Avg. Finish. Moreover he’s ran just 71.43% of his laps in the Top 15, has the 15th best Avg. Driver Rating at 82.5, led 0 laps, and just 2.25 Stage Pts Per Stage. As I mentioned above last year at Mid-Ohio Hocevar finished 3rd after spending all 67 laps in the Top 15, obtaining 9 Stage Pts, and ended with the 3rd best Avg. Driver Rating at 108.8. Based on the data I think Hocevar will have a decent day and run well, but I think his Top 5 streak has a high probability of ending this weekend as I see him finishing no better than 5th.

Nick Sanchez is notable because of his 2022/23 stats on Road Courses. Sanchez had another blazing fast truck at Nashville as he won the Pole and finished 3rd in the race. This was Sanchez’s 3rd Pole, which leads the series this year, and is tied for 3rd most thru 13 races since 2016. In addition this was his 2nd Top 3 and 6th Top 10 on the year. All of his finishes have given him a 13.62 Avg. Finish and his races as a whole have given him an 88.51 Avg. Driver Rating, both rank 8th best in the 2023 Ranks above. In worse news he’s only ran 62.8% of his laps in the Top 15, has just 10 Stage T10’s, and only 56 Stage Pts; all 3 of these stats are 11th best. What’s better is that Sanchez is on a 3 race Top 10 streak and had a Top 10 in his only Truck Road Course start. That start was at COTA earlier this year where he ran 88.1% of his laps in the Top 15, had a 95.9 Driver Rating, and finished 7th. As mentioned this is his only Road Course start in the Truck Series so there is no data on Sanchez here at Mid-Ohio. Therefore, this is a bit of a guess as there is little data to go off of, but I think Sanchez has a decent race and runs well finishing somewhere between 6th and 20th.

Stewart Friesen is notable because of his stats in his 1 career start at Mid-Ohio. Friesen struggled at Nashville failing to run a single lap in the Top 10 and finishing 18th after a late race spin. This sums up Friesen’s season as he’s ran 76.37% of his laps in the Top 15 (4th best), but has the 9th best Avg. Driver Rating at 82.54 and the 14th best Avg. Finish at 15.08. Moreover he only has 1 Top 2 this year despite his 3 Top 3’s and 4 Top 5’s, and what’s worse is that these 4 Top 5’s are his only Top 10’s. In somewhat better stats he has 1 Stage Win and 14 Stage T10’s, but also only 59 Stage Pts. However he does have 0 DNF’s, but to be frank that only makes his dismal Avg. Finish all the worse. The 2022/23 Road Courses have been a mixed bag for Friesen as he has 1 Top 5, 2 Top 10’s, 3 Top 15’s, and 1 DNF. Overall he has a 14.5 Avg. Finish, a 90.43 Avg. Driver Rating, and has ran 75% of his laps in the Top 15 in the 4 races. In addition he’s led 0 laps and has 0 Stage Wins, but does have 3.13 Stage Pts Per Stage. With that said there is finally good news for Friesen in that his Top 5 on a Road Course came at Mid-Ohio last year. In the race he finished 4th, ran 87% of his laps in the Top 15, and had the 6th best Driver Rating at 98.8. Overall this year has been a struggle for Friesen, but he could have success this weekend based on last year. In all I think this weekend is good to him and he finishes between 4th and 8th.
