Roulette Recap follows a randomly-selected NASCAR Xfinity Series driver throughout a race and recaps their efforts. The driver could face calamity on lap one or start from the rear and win the race – there is no telling ahead of time. With that, may the odds be ever in the driver’s favor.
The Loop 121
Those paying attention to Anthony Alfredo‘s social media have noticed his excitement for the inaugural street race in Chicago.

Unfortunately, practice and qualifying did not go according to plan. Once the sessions shook out, the BJ McLeod Motorsports driver would line up P34 for The Loop 121.
Stage 1
Alfredo moved to P26 in the opening lap, and the next few laps saw drivers settle in to learn the course.
Lap 5 brought the first caution. The motor in Justin Marks’ No. 10 Kaulig Racing machine blew up and sent him for a spin.
The remainder of the stage was quiet, and passing seemed near impossible.
With that, Alfredo finished the opening stage in P25. Per road course rules, there was no caution to end the stage and the race remained green to start the next 15-lap stage.
Stage 2
Only two laps into the second stage, the No. 34 of Andre Castro crashed hard into the Turn 1 tire barrier. This brought out a well-timed caution.
At this time, Alfredo was updated on his managing of turns in comparison to those around him. Additionally, a plan was made for the upcoming laps. That plan included pitting along with 17 other drivers in an attempt to try and find something to help their efforts.
After a miscue on pit road, Alfredo returned to the track in P29. He was holding steady and even gained a position. However, the weather put a damper on his plans to move forward.
Weather Woes
The red flag waved for lightning in the area and teams were put on the clock to wait out the light show. Unfortunately, the storms raged on, forcing an overnight stop to the action.
When NASCAR attempted to get things rolling on Sunday morning, more lightning and flooded streets delayed the action further.
Shockingly, with the halfway mark just two laps away, NASCAR made an unprecedented call to end the race early.
Unfortunately, this had Alfredo finishing The Loop 121 P28.
The race was called off due to weather before half way. Since we pitted right before the last caution, we’ll have to settle for p28.
