For NASCAR Cup Series drivers, it all came down to Daytona. Seventeen drivers had a shot to claim a lone Playoff spot. However, they would have to survive the most chaotic of tracks to secure it.
After a Lap 95 incident collected 16 cars, the number fighting for the coveted position dwindled significantly.
Once all was said and done, Chris Buescher went on to win his third race of the season and Bubba Wallace claimed the final spot with a P12 finish.
Rich MARvelous Move of the Race
Following a violent wreck involving Ryan Preece, drivers lined up for NASCAR Overtime. Kevin Harvick and Buescher led the field back to green, then Brad Keselowski and Buescher went to work.
While neither Keselowski nor Buescher needed a win to make it into the Playoffs, neither driver would turn down the opportunity to win at the World Center of Racing.
After taking the white flag, Buescher claimed the lead. Keselowski then gave the necessary pushes. When he combined the pushing with needed blocks, it put distance between his teammate’s machine and the field filled with so many who desperately wanted that win.
