Bass Pro Shops Night Race
Rain was once again in the forecast. However, Bristol Motor Speedway fans were pleasantly surprised to get a full race in with only a few stoppages due to weather.
They may not have been as happy with Denny Hamlin winning, but at least all 500 laps were completed for the Round of 16 cutoff race.
Advancing to the Round of 12: William Byron, Martin Truex, Jr., Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Ross Chastain, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Bubba Wallace
Rich MARvelous Move of the Race
When it came time to choose the Rich MARvelous Move of the Race, the Pit Pass Network team was left slightly underwhelmed.
Other than the cutline-points battle, not much left us yelling, “That was the move!”
However, one thing stood out: Carson Hocevar.
Hocevar piloted the No. 42 for Legacy Motor Club, replacing the previously suspended-now-unsuspended Noah Gragson. In just his fourth Cup Series start, he went door-to-door with 2012 Cup Champion, Keselowski. Not for a lap or two, but lap after lap after lap.
Furthermore, Hocevar bettered his efforts throughout the weekend. He finished the lone practice session in 23rd, went on to qualify P16, and finished the race P11.
These notable actions spoke volumes about the driver rumored to be headed for a Cup ride in 2024. And ultimately, earned him this week’s Rich MARvelous Move of the Race.
I’ve liked him from the start. And he has a personality also.
