Joey Gase has been behind the wheel in the top three series of NASCAR for 13 years. Now, as a team owner and driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Gase has his hand in many of the day-to-day operations of Emerling-Gase Motorsports.
Gase closed out the 2023 season having ran 14 of 33 races. Of those, he secured a top 10 in a chaotic Talladega race. It is also worth noting that only two of those races were DNFs. So, while he might bounce between the Nos. 35 and 53, Gase has a track record of bringing his machine home clean and getting the most out of his car that he can.
Gase sat down with Pit Pass Network to talk about his career, from running go karts to team ownership, his excitement over the return to Iowa Speedway, how much Jimmy Means has helped his career, and so much more.
Charity of Choice
In nearly every race, Gase has Donate Life on his car, usually representing the state in which the race is being held.
This organization holds special meaning for the Gase family. Gase’s mom passed away in 2011. However, she was an organ donor and her selfless gift allowed 66 families to have a bit longer with their organ donor recipients.
Donate Life strives to bring awareness to the importance of organ donation. Additionally, they work to educate others on the types of donation, organs that can be donated, as well as the ever-increasing list of those awaiting a donation.
