Welcome, in this article series we will be reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series has done in the 2023 season (min. 10 races started). Each part will contain 3-4 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or truck manufacturer/future manufacturer teammate as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2023 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2023 with season ranking since the Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2023 Short track (under 1 mile), Small track (1-1.3 mile), intermediate (1.3-1.5 mile), Big track (2-2.5 mile), Road Course, Superspeedway (drafting tracks), and Dirt track statistics. I will grade each section and give a brief reason why, then give a short overview ending with an overall grade A+ thru F- based on a weighted formula from the grades above. To sum up each team, at the end of their last driver I will give an overall team grade based on the grades for each driver. All grades may take into account underfunded/well-funded trucks and experience.

Was he as great as Corey Heim? No. However, he is on a tier 2 team and his stats are just great (especially his Top 2’s and Top 3’s). So, I just have to give him an A+.

He only had 5 Top 10’s, but all of those were in the Top 3 with 2 Wins. In addition he ran great and had the most playoff points in the playoffs. Hands down an A+ performance overall.

4 straight Top 10’s isn’t too bad for the Truck Series nevertheless 4 straight Top 3 finishes! That’s craziness, add in that he had a 2 race Top 2 streak as well and he gets another A+.

What kept him from an A is that his Laps in Top 15% was just not high enough plus even though he had 2 Top 3’s, those were his only Top 10 finishes. So, he gets just an A-.

His 5th best Avg. Finish was bested by 3 Xfinity drivers that ran 1 race, so that’s a little misleading. The rest of his stats are great (except for the 1 finish out of the Top 15) so he gets an A+.

He almost ran half his laps in the Top 15 and his Avg. Driver Rating was decently good. However, finishing 30th isn’t ideal (duh) so he gets an average grade, C.
Overview
– Eckes finish 5th (a best for MHR), but after the season he had this is a bit of a disappointment
– Eckes ran and finished great all year, his only bad stat being his DNF’s and Laps Completed%
– 5 of his 7 playoff finishes were Top 3 and he had the 3rd best Avg. Driver Rating
– He had a 4 race Top 3 streak which is tied for the 13th longest Top 3 streak in Truck history
– At Short tracks he ran fairly well, but he finished in the Top 10 in less than half the races
– His worst finish at a Small track was 3rd and he ran 98% of his laps in the Top 15
– At Intermediates Eckes ran pretty good, but he couldn’t always find ways to finish good
– He ran decently well and finished 7th in the one Big track race
– In 2 Road Course races he had a 3rd place finish and a 30th place DNF
– He finished in the Top 3 in 2 of the 3 Superspeedway races and ran exceptionally well overall
– He ran less than half his laps in the Top 15 at the one Dirt track race en route to a 30th place DNF

In just his 2nd year in a tier 2 truck he got 12 Top 10’s in just 20 races and a lot of his stats rank 9th best this year. That warrants a B+ I’d say.

Overview
– In only his 2nd year in Trucks with Rackley W.A.R. DiBenedetto made the playoffs to finish 10th in points
– DiBenedetto didn’t have great finishes, but he ran well and put together a bunch of Top 10 finishes this year
– In the playoff races he ran he ran decent and finished 3 of 4 races in the Top 10
– He was able to compile an impressive 6 straight Top 10 finishes at one point this year
– One of his better tracks were Short tracks where he got 4 Top 10’s and ran very well
– Small tracks were his worst track as he ran pretty bad overall, but he did have 1 Top 10
– DiBenedetto probably ran better than he finished on Intermediates, but his finishes weren’t awful
