Dawson Cram is not new to NASCAR. However, with only a handful of starts a season, he is not a household name – yet!
After making his NASCAR touring series debut in 2017 with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, he made his NASCAR Xfinity Series start in 2021.
The 2023 season saw Cram with nine Xfinity starts. He clocked time behind the wheel for three different teams – CHK Racing, Alpha Prime Racing, and SS GreenLight Racing. Most notably, he finished the season with a top-20 finish at Phoenix Raceway.
Additionally, he made a single start in the Truck Series. This start came at the spring Darlington race with G2G Racing.
To date, Cram has 31 Truck starts and 12 Xfinity starts.
Those recent Xfinity starts turned the head of one particular team owner. At the beginning of December 2023, Cram announced he would be running the No. 4 full-time for JD Motorsports.
Having the opportunity to work with one team and be in one car for all 33 races next season will be a phenomenal learning opportunity for the young driver.
He recently sat down with Pit Pass Network to talk about this recent news, as well how it is a ‘full circle’ moment. He also spoke more on splitting time between multiple teams, his family’s racing history, the honor of running throwback schemes for Kyle Petty and Bob Keselowski, and so much more!
Charity of Choice
Dawson has picked the Dale Jr. Foundation as his charity of choice. The DJF is dedicated to giving underprivileged individuals, specifically youth, “the resources to improve their confidence and education and the opportunity to achieve extraordinary goals.”
The five “areas of giving” for the DJF focus on empowerment, education, wellness, hope, and hunger.
