Welcome, in this article series we will be reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series has done in the 2023 season (min. 10 races started). Each part will contain 3-4 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or truck manufacturer/future manufacturer teammate as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2023 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2023 with season ranking since the Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2023 Short track (under 1 mile), Small track (1-1.3 mile), intermediate (1.3-1.5 mile), Big track (2-2.5 mile), Road Course, Superspeedway (drafting tracks), and Dirt track statistics. I will grade each section and give a brief reason why, then give a short overview ending with an overall grade A+ thru F- based on a weighted formula from the grades above. To sum up each team, at the end of their last driver I will give an overall team grade based on the grades for each driver. All grades may take into account underfunded/well-funded trucks and experience.

He’s in his 2nd year and with a tier 3 team so getting 1 Top 5 and running 15% of his laps in the Top 15 isn’t too bad. However, his stats still aren’t great which is why he gets a D+.

What hurt his grade was his pretty bad Laps in Top 15%, but what helped his grade be a D+ is that he had 1 Top 15 and a not so terrible Avg. Driver Rating.

Overview
– Howard ran every race this year for the small team and finished 21st in points
– This year Howard was able to get 1 Top 5 and didn’t run terrible, but also had 5 DNF’s

What helped him get a D instead of D- was that he had 0 DNF’s in his 14 starts. However, why he’s so low is that his runs were really not that good, even for a tier 3 team.

There isn’t much to say. He ran 0 laps in the Top 15, finished 25th, and had the 29th best Avg. Driver Rating. This isn’t all that good, but a D+ is fitting.
