Welcome, in this article series we will be reviewing and rating how each driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series has done in the 2023 season (min. 10 races started). Each part will contain 3-4 drivers and have them grouped by organization/satellite team or truck manufacturer/future manufacturer teammate as best as possible. The review will include the drivers 2023 season statistics, along with ranks among drivers in 2023 with season ranking since the Playoffs started in 2016. We will also highlight playoff stats, notable streaks accomplished through the year, 2023 Short track (under 1 mile), Small track (1-1.3 mile), intermediate (1.3-1.5 mile), Big track (2-2.5 mile), Road Course, Superspeedway (drafting tracks), and Dirt track statistics. I will grade each section and give a brief reason why, then give a short overview ending with an overall grade A+ thru F- based on a weighted formula from the grades above. To sum up each team, at the end of their last driver I will give an overall team grade based on the grades for each driver. All grades may take into account underfunded/well-funded trucks and experience.

All but one of his starts came with tier 3 teams, so getting 3 Top 10’s and running 20% of his laps in the Top 15 isn’t all that bad. So, in comparison with other drivers he gets a C-.

What saved him from earning a worse grade is that he did have 1 Top 10 finish in the 3 races he competed in. Other than that his Laps in Top 15% and Avg. Driver Rating were pretty poor.

He finished 9th, ran so many laps in the Top 15, got Stage Pts, and had the 5th best Avg. Driver Rating. This is at least an A-, but consider he did this with Roper Racing and he gets an A+.
Overview
– Honeycutt ran less than half the races this year but he still finished 27th in points
– In Honeycutt’s 11 races he finished 3 in the Top 10 and didn’t run terrible with an Avg. Finish better than 20.0
– He ran 3 playoff races and got 1 Top 10, but overall he ran worse than he did as a whole this year
– His 3 Top 10’s did not come in any sort of streak, just 1 straight of everything
– Short tracks weren’t too good for him as he ran okay, but didn’t finish too great

There isn’t much to say. Even for a tier 3 truck a driver with Boyd’s experience should have better stats than these. He was almost worst or tied for worst in every category.
