– William Byron is notable because of his race last Summer at Atlanta
– Last week Byron led just 4 laps and didn’t even run half the race in the Top 15, but he was at the right place when the last caution came out as he won the Daytona 500
– His 2024 Ranks aren’t incredible for someone who is 1 for 1 on the season as two of his ranks are worse than 10th, but he does have the 2nd best Avg. Stage Finish
– After Daytona he is now on a 2 race Top 5 streak and has 4 straight Stage T10’s
– His Atlanta streaks aren’t as kind to him as the best he has is just a 4 straight Stage T10 streak in 2022
– Since the beginning of 2023 he has the 5th best Avg. Finish at Superspeedways with 2 Wins and 5 Top 10’s in 7 races, but 0 Stage Wins
– Last Summer at Atlanta Byron led only 10% of the race and ran just 51% of his laps in the Top 15, but he ended in victory lane with the 4th best Driver Rating
– In the Next Gen car at Atlanta he’s either won or DNF’d as he has 2 of each in the 4 races with 4.13 Stage Pts Per Stage and the 2nd best Laps in Top 15%
Outlook for this weekend
William Byron is a Daytona 500 champion after he got a good break with a last lap caution. This weekend another Superspeedway is a welcome sight to him as he’s done well in the last 7 Superspeedway races, and what’s more is he was the last driver to win a Cup race here at Atlanta. However, he’s not assured a good finish this weekend as the Atlanta stats say he either wins or wrecks trying.

– Alex Bowman is notable because he’s 2nd in points
– Bowman was one or two seconds from being the 2024 Daytona 500 winner, but instead he had to settle for 2nd place and being happy for his teammate
– The 2024 stats for him are decent through 1 race as he has an 11.0 Avg. Stage Finish and the 10th best Avg. Driver Rating
– The only streak he’s on worth mentioning is a 1 race Top 2 streak
– His Atlanta streaks are more impressive as he had a 3 race Top 10 streak not too long ago along with a 5 straight Stage T10 streak
– Since the beginning of 2023 Superspeedways have been alright for him as he has 3 Top 10’s in 7 races, but also has just the 16th best Avg. Driver Rating
– Bowman struggled at Atlanta last Summer as he finished a dismal 26th and ran only half the race in the Top 15, but he did have the 11th best Driver Rating
– Since the introduction of the Next Gen he’s struggled at Atlanta getting just 1 Top 10 to 2 finishes out of the Top 20 and he’s led 0 laps
Outlook for this weekend
Alex Bowman came so so close to winning his first ever Daytona 500, but the caution on the last lap came a moment too soon. This weekend he has another chance at a Superspeedway, but based on his stats that may not be great as he’s done decent but nothing special. It’s even worse when you see that he’s struggled at Atlanta since the Next Gen came around. All in all Bowman may run well this weekend, but a win probably isn’t in the cards.

– Christopher Bell is notable because of his 2024 stats through 1 race
– Last week Bell ran just 53.5% of his laps in the Top 15 and got 0 Stage T10’s before coming on strong late to finish 3rd
– Through 1 race this year he’s done awful in stages getting a 25.0 Avg. Stage Finish, but he has the 3rd best Avg. Driver Rating and 3rd best Avg. Finish
– The only notable streak he has is his 1 race Top 3 “streak”
– His Atlanta streaks are better, but not by much as he is only on a 2 straight Stage T10 streak here
– In the last 7 Superspeedway races he only has the 12th best Avg. Driver Rating, but he has 3 Top 3 finishes leading to the 2nd best Avg. Finish (10.0)
– Last Summer at Atlanta Bell got 7 Stage Pts, but only ran 39% of his laps in the Top 15 before finishing 23rd
– In the Next Gen car at Atlanta he’s been not great as he has just 1 Top 15 finish in the 4 races, but he’s ran well having the 6th best Laps in Top 15% and getting 6 Stage T10’s
Outlook for this weekend
Christopher Bell came out of Daytona with a decent run and a great finish, coming home 3rd. As we head to another Superspeedway the stats say to look for him to, at best, be at the back of the Top 10 in the first two stages, but he may be able to find his way to the front by the end of the race. However, this is Atlanta where he’s struggled to finish well of late, so overall the stats say look for Stage Pts for Bell this weekend but not such a good race finish.

– Last week Elliott ran 63% of his laps in the Top 15, including winning Stage 1, before ending the race in 14th
– His Avg. Finish is his worst 2024 Rank above, but his others aren’t great as he has 0 Top 10’s and is only tied for the 8th best Avg. Stage Finish this year
– He has no notable streaks to speak of this year
– Atlanta isn’t great to him in the streaks department either as he’s had just 3 straight Top 10’s, but he did have 2 such streaks
– He’s ran 6 of the last 7 Superspeedway races and in those races he has 0 Top 3’s with just 1 Top 5, but he does have 2 Stage Wins and only 1 finish out of the Top 20
– Elliott ran just 31% of his laps in the Top 15 last Summer at Atlanta and had the 21st best Driver Rating, but he found a way to finish 13th
– In his 3 Next Gen races at Atlanta he has 1 Win and 2 Top 10’s with 2 Stage Wins and he has the best Next Gen Avg. Finish here
Outlook for this weekend
Chase Elliott won the first stage of the year last week at Daytona, but ultimately ended up outside the Top 10 at the finish. He has a chance for redemption this weekend at another Superspeedway as he’s ran decent on them over the last 7 races. However, his finishes aren’t great, but this is Atlanta where he’s ran and finished well in the Next Gen car. Overall this weekend expect to see Elliott running well and if his Atlanta Next Gen prowess holds true he’ll finish good as well.

– Ryan Blaney is notable because of how well he’s done on Superspeedways since the start of 2023
– At Daytona last week Blaney 65% of the laps he ran in the Top 15 before getting caught up in a late wreck to end up 30th
– His 2024 Ranks above aren’t too great because of this wreck, but he is tied for the 3rd most Stage Pts since he won Stage 2
– The only active streak he has is that he is on a 1 straight Stage Win “streak”
– His Atlanta streaks are much more impressive as he is on a 3 straight race Top 10 streak here and a 2 straight Stage T10 streak as well
– He’s been the best driver in the last 7 Superspeedway races as he has the 7th best Avg. Finish, 2nd best Avg. Driver Rating, and 4th best Laps in Top 15% with 3 Stage Wins
– At Atlanta last Summer Blaney ran 93% of his laps in the Top 15, had the best Driver Rating, and got 19 Stage Pts; but he only could manage a 9th place finish
– In the 4 Next Gen races at Atlanta he is tied for the 3rd best Avg. Finish and has the best Avg. Driver Rating, but has a best finish of just 5th
Outlook for this weekend
Ryan Blaney looked strong last week, until he ended up wrecked and out of the race. This weekend he looks to get redemption as he’s overall been strong on Superspeedways of late, especially at Atlanta where he’s finished 3 of the 4 Next Gen races in the Top 10. However, Top 5’s haven’t been a great calling card in these races. So, while Blaney may run well this weekend beware of him not getting a Top 5 finish.
