All-Time Cup Track Stats: Phoenix

In the last Cup race at Las Vegas was saw Kyle Larson dominate as he won Stage 1, Stage 2, and the race. This week we head to one of the more important regular season tracks, Phoenix, as this is where the Championship race will be held this Fall. Down below you will find different statistics from all of the NASCAR Cup races here at Phoenix Raceway ranging from Most Wins to Best Average Finishes by starting position. So read and enjoy these fun fact track stats!
In this post you will only find all-time stats, if you are looking for only active drivers stats or Next Gen stats check out my next article Active/Next Gen Cup Track Stats: Phoenix.
Active Drivers will be highlighted like so
Active means any driver who started a race in the 2024 Cup Series season.

First Winner:
Alan Kulwicki 11/06/1988
Most Recent Winner: Ross Chastain 11/05/2023
Worst Starting Positions by Winner

T6 1994-30 19 Terry Labonte T10 2013-02 15 Carl Edwards

In the 55 Cup races at Phoenix only 12 times has the winner started 15th or worse, so look for someone starting well this weekend to win.

5 2011-35 34 Matt Kenseth 10 2013-02 21 Mark Martin

Only 10 of 53 Pole winners have finished out of the Top 20 at Phoenix, so it’s safe to say that the Pole winner this weekend will finish decent at least.

2 of the last 5 races at Phoenix have been won by the guy that won the Pole in qualifying, although it hasn’t been done in the Spring race since 2015.

No driver has won both stages at Phoenix, so winning stage 1 this weekend may not be a good thing for stage 2.
