All-Time Cup Track Stats: Sonoma

Word Wide Technology Raceway didn’t produce the most exciting race to watch last week. However, what it lacked in action it made up for in drama as we saw Austin Cindric steal the win away from his Penske teammate, Ryan Blaney, when the latter ran out of fuel on the last lap. Next up on the docket is a place where you better get your fuel mileage right, because if you don’t you probably won’t make it back to pit road at Sonoma. Down below you will find different statistics from all of the NASCAR Cup races here at Sonoma Raceway ranging from Most Wins to Best Average Finishes by starting position. So read and enjoy these fun fact track stats!
In this post you will only find all-time stats, if you are looking for only active drivers stats or Next Gen stats check out my next article Active/Next Gen Cup Track Stats: Sonoma.
Active Drivers will be highlighted like so
Active means any driver who started a race in the 2024 Cup Series season.
*NOTE: Due to Iowa being after Sonoma, and this being Iowa’s first Cup race, there will be no Track Stats articles next week. This series will continue in 2 weeks when New Hampshire will be the next race.

Only twice in 34 races at Sonoma has a driver won when starting out of the Top 15, but both of those times were drivers starting 30th or worse. So, don’t start between 15th and 29th if you want to win this weekend.

Continuing with the Mark Martin love (sorta), he is the only driver to lead more than 61% of a race here at Sonoma and not win. So, leading 68 laps this weekend is pretty much a guaranteed win.
