Go Bowling at the Glen

For race two of the first round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, Ross Chastain found himself as the polesitter. The top 10 for the Go Bowling at the Glen was an equal number of Playoff drivers and those just searching for a win as the season wound down.

The opening lap was chaotic as a huge stack-up occurred at the bus stop and ended with Championship contender, Ryan Blaney, in the garage with a broken steering column. Seven other drivers were involved as well.

Martin Truex, Jr. came out as the Stage 1 winner. A caution with two to go in Stage 2 allowed Chastain to claim the stage win.

Then, for all the marbles, or bowling balls, drivers took the race into Overtime after multiple cautions over the final 10 laps.

In the final lap, it was a battle between Shane Van Gisbergen and Chris Buescher, with Buescher coming out on top.

Buescher also earned the Rich MARvelous Move of the Race.

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network staff members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.

In that last lap battle, Buescher went head-to-head with a road racing ace. All he needed was a mistake from SVG.

Then, as Buescher got to SVG’s bumper, he gave a slight bump and that was all he wrote.

After that, SVG had a time hanging on to his No. 16 Chevy Camaro and went sideways out of turns. This allowed Buescher to put some distance between his car and SVG’s and walk away with his first win of the season.
