Bank of America ROVAL 400
The cutoff race at Charlotte Motor Speedway meant the intensity was through the roof for the Bank of America ROVAL 400.
Similar to earlier races in the Playoffs, many of those fighting for a championship faced troubles on track.
Early on into Stage 2, Tyler Reddick was battling a bent toe link. A few laps later, Chase Briscoe lost a tire. Less than 10 laps later, Briscoe returned to the pits with additional issues. Three laps later, his day, and championship run, was over.
Following the start of the final stage, Daniel Suarez had brake issues. However, the real issue came post-race when Alex Bowman was disqualified.
This put the Hendrick Motorsports driver out of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs and put Joey Logano in.
Oh, and in the midst of that, Kyle Larson won.
Rich MARvelous Move of the Race
It was a quick decision for our Pit Pass Network team when it came to the ROVAL Rich MARvelous Move of the Race.
Without the No. 45 pit crew being on top of things, Reddick would not advance to the Round of 8 with more opportunities to fight for the 2024 Championship.
The team worked tirelessly throughout the race to come back from the bent toe link. The regular season champion finished the race P11.
Kudos to the crew!
Shout Out
Larson and the No. 5 HMS team deserve a high-five as well. One PPN team member nominated them this week for “old school racing” and “going for the win, and not just playing it safe and going for points.”
