39 days have come and went. Each Cup Series team has been previewed. The Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series received theirs as well. Initial silly season vibes have been checked. All that remains is a single day of stagnation until the NASCAR Cup Series kicks off Speedweeks. The haulers will arrive today, but the cars hit the track tomorrow for practice and qualifying. One more sleep and the 2025 season will officially start. Now that there is only 1 Day to Daytona, time to see the Pit Pass Network Speedweeks Predictions.
For the finale of the Days to Daytona series, the first installment of the weekly Pit Pass Network Predictions series will be featured. This year though, there will be a different format. Taking some inspiration from NASCAR’s 36 for 36 predictions, Pit Pass Network will be doing a season-long points predictions format. What the selected driver receives in owners points will be what the PPN member earns. Whoever has the most points overall between NASCAR’s top series will be the winner. Also, the PPN readers/followers get to participate. Along with the crew, a fan consensus will compete for the top.
Predictions Format
For the 2025 season, every NASCAR weekend will have a Predictions article. This will only cover NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series. Except for the Cup crown jewel events (Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400, & Southern 500), every Pit Pass Network member selects 1 driver per series/race. For the crown jewel races, multiple Cup drivers will be picked.
The drivers picked are not completely up to the whims of the PPN team. Instead, the entry list will be put into a roulette wheel. That wheel will be spun 5 times to give the group of drivers that can be picked. For crown jewel events, the entry list will be segmented by owner points and 4 groups of 4 will be the pool of drivers. Of note, no driver will be featured in back-to-back weeks.
As for scoring, the owner points scored by the selected driver from the race will be awarded to whom picked said driver. Owner points are used to avoid drivers ineligible to receive driver points for any race.
