New System
The Kubota High Limit Racing co-founders, Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet, announced today during a pre-season opener press conference a new addition to the series’ structure. A “franchise” system not unlike the NASCAR charter system is set to be implemented at the beginning of the 2026 season.

Payouts
This change is intended to increase the long-term investment value of the teams and make their operations more sustainable. Initially, this change will be offered to 10 teams, with 5 teams being selected from the top 5 points finishers in the 2024 season and 5 from the top points finishers in 2025. The system aims to put nearly 4 million dollars in investments in the teams in its first season and scale accordingly with the 2029 season set to invest over 5 million dollars to 15 franchised teams.
Franchise owners will be able to sell or transfer their franchises to other prospective team owners.
Do you think this will have the intended effect of “elevating the sport of sprint car racing,” or will it face the same criticisms and shortcomings that we’ve seen with the NASCAR charter system?
