One of the OG tracks on the schedule, a re-born Rockingham Speedway made it’s much anticipated in 2025. Having not seen any action from NASCAR’s major series since 2013, the Truck and Xfinity teams returned last weekend while the Cup teams were off for Easter.
Regaining it’s reputation as a tough, slippery track the teams looked to see who could put all their eggs in one basket on this stand alone weekend.
2025 Craftsman Truck Series Race at Rockingham

Tyler Ankrum (#18 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet): While experiencing success since joining the Truck Series roster full-time in 2019, Victory Lane has eluded Ankrum since his rookie season. That changed in the series’ return to Rockingham this season, as Ankrum drove his Chevrolet to his second career Truck Series win. Starting 16th, the MHR driver led 29 laps en route to victory.
The win also solidified Ankrum as a playoff threat, as he currently sits third in series standings after seven races.
Jack Wood (#91 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet): Following behind teammate Ankrum, Jack Wood also had a solid day in his MHR entry. Following his 24th place starting spot, Wood survived a relatively attrition-filled event to finish seventh. Wood has somewhat struggled this season, having finished outside the top fifteen in several races this season, this had to feel almost like a win for the #91 crew.
Spencer Boyd (#76 Freedom Racing Enterprises Chevrolet): Essentially running as an owner-driver in his #76 Chevrolet, Boyd and his crew received a much needed points punch in the arm from Rockingham. While Boyd was one of two trucks completing 198 out of 200 laps, the team dug in and earned a 15th place finish after starting 31st. This was Boyd’s best finish of the season, as well as his best since a 10th in 2024 at Talladega.

Parker Retzlaff (#4 Alpha Prime Racing Chevrolet): Retzlaff’s move from Jordan Anderson Racing to Alpha Prime in 2025 seems to be paying off early on. As with most of the field, Retzlaff had little to no experience racing at The Rock. This did not deter the #4 crew though, as they ran strong all day and finished a strong 2nd.
Retzlaff’s season has not been without drama, having even been rained out of the field at COTA. As the series arrived in Rockingham, Retzlaff has quickly progressed from 35th to 22nd in standings after only 10 races.

Jeb Burton (#27 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet): Burton and his JAR crew are on pace to have one of their better seasons together this season. Burton was one of the few drivers to have some experience at Rockingham, which seems to have paid off in the series return. Carrying Celsius Energy colors on his Chevrolet, Burton finished 8th after starting 22nd.
Burton has two career truck series starts to his credit at The Rock in 2012 and 2013, including a pole and top ten finish (both in ’13).
Kasey Kahne (#33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet): Also making his series return in Rockingham is Cup Series veteran Kasey Kahne. Wheeling a #33 Chevrolet for RCR, Kahne made his presence felt during the event. However, Rockingham said “this won’t be easy” , putting Kahne as far back as two laps down with damage after starting 4th.
Kahne and the #33 crew did not give up however, and the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet would finish the day on lead lap in 14th. Kahne has not run a race in any of NASCAR’s top tier series since retiring from full-time driving in 2018.
