With the Xfinity teams enjoying a two week break, the Craftsman Truck and Cup Series teams hit the Kansas Speedway. While the usual Cup names and teams dominated the headlines, many of the “other” teams had solid weekends.

Who clicked their heels together and made strides in their season?

Craftsman Trucks | Heart of America 200

#45 Kaden Honeycutt: Niece Motorsports driver Honeycutt continues to march through his first full-time season in the trucks. The #45 Chevrolet had a presence at the top of the field throughout the event, finishing 8th after starting 7th. Through the first nine races of 2025, Honeycutt sits eighth in points with five top 10 finishes.

#42 Matt Mills: Following in teammate Honeycutt’s footsteps, Niece driver Matt Mills also had a strong run in Kansas. Starting his Chevrolet in 18th, Mills would go on to have a strong run and finish 12th. After struggling the last few weeks, the Kansas finish gave the 42 team some momentum, with 12th being their best finish of the season thus far.

#5 Toni Breidinger: Breidinger moved the trucks this season, after spending the last few seasons in ARCA. While her rookie campaign has not gone as well as hoped, Kansas provided a solid performance for the TRICON driver. Starting 26th, Breidinger drove a solid race and came home 20th, completing all 134 laps.

#60 Ryan Preece: RFK Racing driver Preece has certainly had a mixed bag of a season in his first in the #60 Ford. Kansas however, brought Preece some luck, starting his Ford 30th and finishing 7th. While the RFK driver’s consistency has been key this season, the Kansas finish was their best run in the last handful of races.

#34 Todd Gilliland: Gilliland was promoted to the teams main #34 Ford this season after driving the #38 the last few. The Front Row team typically has speed on these types of tracks, and Kansas was no different. While the Love’s Travel Stops Ford started 23rd, Gilliland drove a smart race and finished 12th.

#67 Corey Heim: Truck Series TRICON driver Heim continued his development in Kansas. Sliding into the #67 Toyota for 23XI Racing, it was Heim time as the Toyota prospect made his 2025 Cup debut. Heim showed excellent maturity during the race, bringing his Denny Hamlin-owned entry home 13th after rolling off 28th. Heim also has three other Cup starts in 2024 with 23XI and Legacy Motor Club (as a sub for Erik Jones).
