Michigan International Speedway had it’s turn last weekend, hosting the Truck Series and Cup Series team as we roll towards what could be a fun, dramatic summer of racing.

#52 Stewart Friesen: In perhaps one of the bigger upsets of the Truck Series schedule, owner-driver Stewart Friesen finally brushed the bad luck bug off his shoulder in Michigan. Starting his Toyota in 17th, Friesen was in position to take the lead with two laps to go, and scored his fourth career win. This also marks the HALMAR-Friesen team’s first trip to victory lane since 2022.

#66 Luke Fenhaus: Fenhaus had one of the best performances of his young truck career last Saturday. In his ninth start in ThorSport Racing’s #66 Ford, Fenhaus scored a third place finish after scoring his first career pole. Fenhaus’ previous best in 2025 was a 14th in Daytona to start the season.

#76 Spencer Boyd: Following a wave of decent finishes in his #76 Chevrolet, veteran owner-driver Boyd had another solid run in Michigan. Starting his Silverado in 29th, Boyd would survive the chaotic end of the event and finish 16th.

#17 Chris Buescher: Buescher’s 2025 campaign so far has been a roller coaster after what should have started as a solid season. The RFK driver had a strong breakthrough performance in Michigan, leading thirteen laps in his #17 Ford and finishing second. Buescher’s previous best thus far was a 5th in Phoenix.

#8 Kyle Busch: 2025 has not been kind to the Richard Childress Racing driver, with the #8 team almost being snake-bitten at times. As with Buescher, Michigan may have been the race changes that luck. While Busch’s race was not without drama, the 8 car showed speed and collected an 8th place finish, after starting 2nd.

#43 Erik Jones: On the back of strong runs the last two weeks, Jones and his Legacy Motor Club team had speedy showing on Sunday. Rolling off 22nd in his Toyota, Jones quietly worked his way through the field and scored an 11th place finish. Michigan marks the third straight top fifteen run for the veteran Jones.
