Quaker State 400

A weather-shortened qualifying session at EchoPark Speedway had Joey Logano win the pole for the Quaker State 400. After 37 laps, the race was halted for rain. Once drivers returned to the track, Austin Cindric was declared the Stage 1 winner.

Stage 2 was barely underway when ‘The Big One’ happened, and 22 cars were collected in some way.

This incident brought out another red flag. After the track was cleaned up, Stage 2 came to a close with Tyler Reddick taking the stage win.

Finally, all bets were off for the final leg of the race. Drivers made moves, swapped the lead, and kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

In the last 20 laps, it was anyone’s race to win. But when the checkered flag waved, hometown driver Chase Elliott secured the win.

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

Chase Elliott not only won the Quaker State 400, he won the Rich MARvelous Move of the Race!

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network team members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.

The race at EchoPark Speedway was one where anyone had a chance to win. Elliott kept his car clean throughout multiple incidents. Ultimately, he was only one of four cars without damage running at the end of end of the night.

Then, Elliott made a last-lap pass to claim the win. Additionally, that move came while battling a superspeedway master, Brad Keselowski.

On top of all this, Elliott had a very special paint scheme on his car, which was designed by a patient at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Finally, she happened to be a guest of his for this race and had the opportunity to join him in Victory Lane!
