Viva Mexico 250

It was the Shane van Gisbergen show at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez! First, he stole the pole in a rain-shortened qualifying session, then he won Stage 2. From there, it was lights out for the Kiwi. He took the checkered flag with a 16.567-second lead on the field.

It remains to be seen if NASCAR will return to Mexico for racing in the future, but SVG is probably the first in line for a return trip!

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network team members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.

On Lap 73, Riley Herbst went for a spin, exiting Turn 11 following contact with William Byron. After spinning, Herbst went to resume racing and just barely missed getting t-boned by Rickey Stenhouse, Jr.

We’re not quite sure what Herbst was thinking there, but fortunately, for both teams, Stenhouse was heads up and avoided Herbst, allowing both to finish the race.

Herbst brought it home 29th, and Stenhouse came home 27th.
