The brief swing of right and left turn tracks being over for a couple weeks, the Xfinity and Cup Series teams returned to ovals at the concrete Dover Motor Speedway. With weather playing a huge factor all weekend, the Cup race was able to run full distance. The Xfinity teams had their race shortened to 134 out of 200 laps due to rain.

#39 Ryan Sieg: Annual playoff contender Sieg and his family-owned RSS Racing had a solid run in Dover on this Saturday. While the last few races have not been so kind to Sieg, he started his Ford in 19th, and finished the race just shy of a top five in 6th.

Dover was Sieg’s best run since a 5th place at Pocono, which was followed by three finishes of 30th or worse.

#99 Matt DiBenedetto: DiBenedetto and his Viking Motorsports team have had an interesting 2025. While the team is flying solo as a new team this season, there have certainly been some growing pains. Dover was a nice shot in the arm for DiBenedetto though, with his Chevrolet finishing 14th.

DiBenedetto’s Dover outing was his best finish since a 5th place in Talladega. The races in between have been a roller coaster of bad luck and fighting to regain a competitive edge.

#17 Jake Finch: One of the bigger surprises of Saturday came in the form of series newcomer Jake Finch. Making his series debut with Hendrick Motorsports’ #17 Xfinity team, Finch had a quietly solid debut (with the red flag freezing his position in 17th).

Finch is a standout with Toyota and Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series, having scored a win, and 13 top ten finishes in 19 career national series starts. Finch is also the son of former Xfinity series owner James Finch.

#19 Chase Briscoe: Briscoe and his Joe Gibbs Racing crew have continued to pick up momentum the last few weeks, which continued at Dover. Briscoe started and finished in 2nd in his Toyota, and leading 13 laps. This was also the JGR driver’s second straight 2nd place finish.

Briscoe’s 2nd place finish shows the team could be a threat come playoff time. While the season did not start great, Briscoe and his JGR crew have picked up four top ten finishes (including a win) in the last six races

#23 Bubba Wallace: Following fellow Toyota driver Briscoe’s momentum shift, 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace also had a strong showing at the Monster Mile. While Wallace started his Toyota in 22nd, Wallace was able to lead three laps and collect a 6th place finish.

This was Wallace’s seventh top ten in 21 starts so far this season, and his best finish since a 4th place run in Michigan.

#7 Justin Haley: Haley and his Spire Motorsports crew have had a somewhat rough go of it since Haley’s return to Spire in late 2024. Dover became somewhat of a bright spot as of late, with Haley qualifying his Chevrolet 20th and finishing a solid 17th.

Dover was Haley’s second straight top fifteen run, after a considerable run of bad luck. This momentum could carry Haley into the post season, as the Spire driver looks to re-establish himself.
