Brickyard 400
Chase Briscoe snagged the pole for the Brickyard 400, and 17 laps into the opening stage, the first caution waved. When the opening stage came to a close, Briscoe had reclaimed the lead, earning some stage points.
With nine laps remaining in the second stage, Erik Jones had a tire blow and slammed into the wall. This brought out the caution at an interesting time, allowing Ryan Blaney to take the lead. There were four laps left, and rain was on the horizon. Blaney capitalized and pulled away with the stage win.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, he ran out of fuel just after winning the stage. This allowed Kyle Larson to start the final stage with Denny Hamlin on his tail.
With 15 to go, Bubba Wallace had a five-second lead on Larson. Nine laps later, the caution waved as rain fell around the track.
The red flag was displayed with three to go, and drivers came to pit road. Following an 18-minute delay, drivers faced NASCAR Overtime.
Before the leaders could take the white flag, a multi-car incident brought out the caution.
The second attempt at NASCAR Overtime saw Wallace have just enough fuel to bring it home for a Brickyard 400 win.
Rich MARvelous Move of the Race
While his day didn’t end up MARvelous, Michael McDowell turned some heads amid the Lap 17 wreck.

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network team members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.
Yes. McDowell was the reason for the wreck. However, as Ross Chastain slid up the track, McDowell expertly navigated his way around the No. 1.

Despite this, McDowell had trouble throughout the race and finished the day P30, but it was quite the move in the moment!
Honorable Mention
We wanted to give a shoutout to Katherine Legge, running this season in B.J. McLeod’s No. 78.
Her first outing at Phoenix was a DNF. In Mexico, she finished a lap down. However, in her last three races (Chicago, Sonoma, and Indianapolis), she has brought home lead-lap finishes.
She made noise with a top 20 at Chicago, but did two better than that in the Brickyard 400 with a 17th-place finish! Kudos Katherine!
Chime in with what stood out the most to you at Indy!
