Grant Park 165

Following a chaotic practice session, Shane Van Gisbergen scored the pole for the Grant Park 165. However, at the drop of the green flag, Michael McDowell took off with the lead. Following a lengthy red flag for a multi-car pile-up, McDowell also claimed the Stage 1 win.

Ryan Blaney led the final few laps of the second stage to pull off the Stage 2 win.

In the final stage, Chase Briscoe claimed the lead, but with 16 to go, SVG took the lead from Briscoe.

Immediately, the caution waved for an ambulance that needed to leave the area.

The race resumed, but within a few laps, the caution was back out as Austin Cindric was stopped on track with a broken toe link.

SVG once again had the lead on the restart. Just seconds before the white flag was waved, Cody Ware found himself stuck in the Turn 6 tire barrier.

NASCAR opted to wave the caution after SVG took the white, which handed the Kiwi the win.

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

Noah Gragson had a roller-coaster day in Chi-Town. He was sent to the rear for unapproved adjustments to start the race. Then, just four laps into the Grant Park 165, the Big One happened.

However, he found himself on the winning end of things, at least as far as the Pit Pass Network team was concerned.

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network team members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.

Carson Hocevar bounced around like a pinball, ultimately collecting almost a dozen cars. But Gragson was heavy on the brakes to avoid calamity.

Before rolling the footage, here’s the car to keep an eye on!

And here’s what earned Gragson the Rich MARvelous Move from the Grant Park 165!
