While the trucks had an off weekend, the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series arrived to race in the shadows of the St. Louis Arch, in Gateway at World Wide Technology Raceway.
While the track has been a part of the Xfinity schedule in the past, the series has not raced there since 2010. The Cup Series, ran their first race in 2022 as the newest track on the Cup schedule.

#4 Parker Retzlaff: Finally, Retzlaff and his Alpha Prime Racing crew had a night in WWTR that went somewhat to plan. In a season marred with bad luck, Retzlaff started his Chevrolet in 26th, and finished 8th.
In his first season with Alpha Prime, expectations for Retzlaff were high. However, growing pains did take over a bit. WWTR was Retzlaff’s first top ten since finishing 2nd back in Rockingham.

#17 Corey Day: Hendrick Motorsports prospect Day showed continued progress in his limited Xfinity schedule, with WWTR being a banner day. Rolling his Chevrolet off in the 16th spot, Day showed speed and finished 9th.
In six starts in the #17 Chevrolet this season, this was Day’s first career top ten in the Xfinity Series.
#91 Matt Mills: Taking advantage of the off weekend, Truck Series regular Mills and sponsor J.F. Electric took over DGM Racing’s #91 Chevrolet at WWTR. Mills did not disappoint, and brought the DGM entry home in 21st after starting 37th.
WWTR was Mills’ first start series start since 2023, where he last finished 19th in Kansas. Mills also has 124 series starts dating back to 2017.

#42 John Hunter Nemechek: Continuing a recent wave of momentum with Legacy Motor Club, Nemechek had another solid run at WWTR. Starting his Toyota from the 20th spot, Nemechek ran strong strong throughout the race and finished 6th.
In 28 starts this season so, far Nemechek and his LMC crew have collected eight top ten finishes, with WWTR coming on the heels of a fourth place run in Darlington.
#54 Ty Gibbs: Following in JHN’s footsteps, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs had a solid run in Gateway as well. In a season that has seen a slight drop in performance, Gibbs finished 10th after starting 21st.
WWTR was Gibb’s best finish since an 8th in Daytona.
#47 Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.: Stenhouse has had an up and down season, especially since the summer with the re-branded HYAK Motorsports team. WWTR provided a bit of a reprieve for Stenhouse, driving the #47 Chevrolet to a 20th place run (after starting 34th).
One of the last remaining single car teams in the series, Stenhouse and his HYAK crew earned their best finish since a 6th place effort Atlanta.
