Bristol Motor Speedway

We are heading to Bristol Motor Speedway this week, one of the most anticipated weekends of the year for NASCAR fans! There is bound to be a lot of action with multiple nights of racing.
If you will be watching at home, keep an eye on our socials for content from the track! But if you are going to the races, have a fantastic time. The weather looks great, and the action is always hot under the lights!
If you are looking for some things to do and great places to grab a bite to eat away from the racetrack, we have some options for you.

Attractions

For those with kids, a great option is Just Jump Trampoline Park right off I-81 in Bristol, Tennessee.

They will wear themselves out with the open jump area, gladiator pit, dodgeball courts, and Ninja course. For extra fun, have the family try out the Laser Maze.
Another fun and unique option is the Backyard Terrors and Dinosaur Park in Bluff City. This free park is open until dark every day, and all they ask is a donation for admission.

The family will enjoy looking for over 40 handmade dinosaurs throughout the park. They have a playground and picnic shelter on site if you want to bring food with you.
For history buffs, the Rocky Mount State Historic Site in Piney Flats is a great option. The site is a living 1791 homestead that is open Wednesday- Saturday, 11am to 4:30pm. They offer tours multiple times a day with guides in period dress.

You can spend a couple of hours between the museum and the historic site, seeing what life was like for early settlers of Tennessee.

Food

When it’s time to chow down, here are a few options to choose from before someone in your group gets hangry.
Greene’s Seafood came highly recommended. It is located on the Virginia side of State Street in downtown Bristol.

They have a retail fish market open Monday-Saturday for those who want to cook their own, or you can eat at the restaurant Tuesday-Friday. I was told the blackened tilapia and fried catfish are winning dishes.
Southern Craft BBQ in downtown Bristol is a great lunch or dinner option. Any of their burgers or BBQ trays are delicious. The burnt end nachos are not to be missed.

Bluff City Diner is for those who want home-style cooking. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can’t go wrong with one of their breakfast platters or country-style dinners.
For those who need a java fix, head to Trailblazer Coffee! This local drive-thru coffee shop downtown will have you perked up in a matter of minutes. Don’t wait until late in the day for your latte or espresso because they close at 5pm.
