Enjoy Illinois 300

Denny Hamlin secured the pole for the second race of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. After a couple of cautions, Chase Briscoe was in the lead for the stage win. When the end of Stage 2 was in sight, Kyle Larson got into Ryan Blaney and forced a one-lap shootout for the stage win. When the dust settled, Bubba Wallace took the win and stage points.

The final stage started with back-to-back cautions and then a long green flag run. Green flag pit stops started with about 43 to go. However, before they could cycle through, the caution waved as Ty Dillon slammed the wall with a brake issue.

With three to go, Hamlin had a nearly two-second lead on the field. He maintained that and locked himself into the next round of the Playoffs.

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

Lap 36 gave us the second caution of the day when Josh Berry went for a spin in Turn 2. That moment also gave us the Enjoy Illinois 300 Rich MARvelous Move of the Race.

The Rich MARvelous Move of the Race is voted on by Pit Pass Network team members following the checkered flag of each NASCAR Cup Series race.

As Berry slid toward the fence, Erik Jones eked his way past and went to race the rest of the day. You can see his MARvelous Move beginning at about 50 seconds into the video below.
