Roulette Recap follows a randomly selected driver throughout a race to break down their efforts. There is no telling ahead of time how the race will go. The driver could face calamity on the opening lap or start from the rear and win the race. With that, may the odds be ever in the driver’s favor.

Stage 1

The green waved, and Josh Bilicki gained a spot quickly. By Lap 5, he had earned one more spot and set his eyes on Austin Green. It took eight more laps, but he was able to make the pass. Seven laps later, he radioed in, noting some tightness in the corners.

On Lap 31, he fell back to P31 as Joey Gase worked around the No. 07. With 10 to go in the stage, Bilicki was in danger of being lapped.

He was encouraged to “do what you need to do” to be in the Lucky Dog position.

Bilicki noted he was “sliding the right front,” and his bias adjuster was stuck.

With three to go, Bilicki lost the lead lap and was running in the Lucky Dog spot. He finished the stage in P31.

Stage 2

His team adjusted the car, and Bilicki returned to the track in P32. He held his ground through the second stage as leader, Jesse Love, set sail with a 2.5-second lead.

It was a quiet run for the No. 07 team, and he finished the stage P32, still down a lap.

The team was informed by Bilicki, “That was better…I’m loose on exit, but still tight at the halfway in the corner.”

With that, crew chief Paul Clapprood opted to make some major changes.

Stage 3

The final stage saw Bilicki lined up in P33. Despite some three-wide battles, he was unable to make any ground.

With 50 to go, green flag pit stops began, and the team started discussing a plan. Eight laps later, Clapprood called his driver in from P32 for tires, fuel, and adjustments.

The first caution for an incident waved with 35 to go when Lavar Scott went for a spin after a shove from Anthony Alfredo.

Clapprood checked in with his driver and said, “Just not a good day for us. Not sure where our practice speed went.”

Bilicki restarted P31 with 28 to go. However, two laps into the run, Sammy Smith set off a domino-effect caution.

This incident played into Bilicki’s hand, and he was able to gain a spot.

Following a lengthy caution, Bilicki lined up P30 with 15 to go.

As the checkered flag waved on the GOVX 200, Bilicki brought it home P30.

NASCAR fans know sponsors make the sport go ’round. We want to give a shoutout to Waste Rentals, who played a huge part of the weekend for Josh and the No. 92 team.
