Pit Pass Network Interview: Ariana Jencik

Ariana Jencik is the ‘better half’ of recent PPN interviewee, Parker Retzlaff. However, Jencik is a racer in her own right. With 11 years of racing under her belt, she currently runs in the Limited Late Model series as well as the Pro Truck Series.

Better Half Dash

Soon, she will race on a different track when Motor Racing Outreach hosts its annual Better Half Dash. The Dash will take place at Trackhouse Motorplex (formerly GoPro Motorplex) and will be aired live during Race Hub on June 8. The field will consist of 14 drivers – all spouses, fiances, or girlfriends of NASCAR drivers or team owners. You know, the better halves.

Each driver has selected a charity that speaks to them. Leading up to the Dash, they are raising awareness for their organization while raising funds for MRO. The race winner will lay claim to a $10,000 prize which will benefit their selected charity. And, in return, MRO will be able to continue the incredible ministerial work they do for the traveling NASCAR community.

During the Dash, the drivers aren’t left to their own devices to navigate the 11-turn track. Each driver will have a spotter, and Jencik’s spotter will be NASCAR Xfinity driver, Retzlaff. Jencik’s race strategy is, “Go faster than everyone else and avoid all wrecks!”

Jencik selected Continuing the Mission as her charity of choice for the Better Half Dash. CTM provides ‘uniquely trained canines’ for Military Veterans ‘living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma.’

Jencik was kind enough to sit down to share more about her personal racing career and her preparation for the upcoming Better Half Dash. Be sure to tune in to FS1 on June 8 to cheer on Jencik who will be a force to be reckoned with!
