Driver and Team of the Race Weekend

Rackley Roofing 200

NASCAR stars took on the concrete track in Music City at Nashville Superspeedway this past weekend. Carson Hocevar won Friday night’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Rackley Roofing 200 in the No. 42 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet.

In consideration for the Driver of the Race Weekend, Hocevar finished with a Driver Rating of 130.7, 25 Fastest Laps, and led for 40 laps.

Also in consideration is Corey Heim, driver of the No. 11 Toyota Tundra for Tricon Garage. He led for a race-high 57 laps and ended with a driver rating of 121.9 en route to a fourth-place finish.

Tennessee Lottery 250

After a wild and crazy race in the Tennessee Lottery 250 on Saturday, fans saw the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet driven by A.J. Allmendinger take the checkered flag. However, even with the win, Allmendinger did not make the list of drivers for consideration for Driver of the Race Weekend.

First on the list is his teammate, driver of the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro, Chandler Smith. He finished with a driver rating of 120.6. He would lead for a race-high 72 laps and spend 98.5% of his night in the top 15.

The next driver on the list is the No. 00 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang driven by Cole Custer. His night ended with a driver rating of 118 and leading 32 laps which was 17% of the race.

Ally 400

Sunday night’s Ally 400 was a home race for Trackhouse Racing and team owner Justin Marks. Markedly, the 1.33-mile oval was dominated by Ross Chastain, the driver of the No. 1 for Marks. Chastain’s driver rating was 138.3. He led for a race-high of 99 laps, with 37 fastest laps.

The only driver who could hold pace with Chastain was Martin Truex, Jr in the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. His night ended with a driver rating of 124, 44 Fastest Laps, and led for 50 laps.

Driver and Team of the Weekend

After analyzing all data by Robert Warren’s Fast Lap group, it was determined that Chastain earned Driver of the Race Weekend. Overall, Hocevar had a great run Friday night. However, Chastain’s driver rating, fastest laps, and win gave him the nod for Driver of the Race Weekend.

Once you combine Saturday’s win, Smith’s strong run, and Allmendinger’s top-ten run on Sunday, they were no doubt the strongest team in Nashville. For these reasons, the honor of the Race Team of the Weekend was given to Kaulig Racing.
