All-Time Cup Track Stats: Dover

Talladega ran it’s first race in 1969 and last week we saw 72 lead changes, among the most ever in a Talladega race, which it was great right? Well, with all the fuel saving it was more about going slow than fast. Up next we go to another track that started hosting Cup races in 1969, but has a completely different style of racing and where drivers will run 100% almost all race, Dover. Down below you will find different statistics from all of the NASCAR Cup races here at Dover Motor Speedway ranging from Most Wins to Best Average Finishes by starting position. So read and enjoy these fun fact track stats!
In this post you will only find all-time stats, if you are looking for only active drivers stats or Next Gen stats check out my next article Active/Next Gen Cup Track Stats: Dover.
Active Drivers will be highlighted like so
Active means any driver who started a race in the 2024 Cup Series season.

Richard Petty 07/06/1969
Most Recent Winner: Martin Truex Jr. 05/01/2023

Starting position matters very much this weekend at Dover as in 105 races only 5 times has someone started out of the Top 20 and won, and only once has someone started 30th or worse and won

Don’t look for the Pole winner this weekend to finish poorly as only once since 2002 has the Pole winner finished 32nd or worse.
