All-Time Cup Track Stats: Talladega

Last week at Texas we got to see yet another Hendrick/JGR battle for the win with Hendrick coming out on top as Chase Elliott broke his long losing streak to win. This week we go to a track where we will see completely different racing as drivers will either be crammed together like ants on a grain of rice or will be strung out like a train, Talladega. Down below you will find different statistics from all of the NASCAR Cup races here at Talladega Superspeedway ranging from Most Wins to Best Average Finishes by starting position. So read and enjoy these fun fact track stats!
In this post you will only find all-time stats, if you are looking for only active drivers stats or Next Gen stats check out my next article Active/Next Gen Cup Track Stats: Talladega.
Active Drivers will be highlighted like so
Active means any driver who started a race in the 2024 Cup Series season.

First Winner:
Richard Brickhouse 09/14/1969
Most Recent Winner: Ryan Blaney 10/01/2023

Talladega has a reputation that you can win from any starting position. However, only 9 times in 109 races has the winner started 20th or worse, with the last time being in 2014.

While it may matter where you start if you want to win, winning the Pole is anything but a good finish guarantee as 11 of 100 Pole winners have finished 34th or worse at Talladega

While winning the Pole doesn’t guarantee a good finish at Talladega that doesn’t mean you can’t win from the Pole, but it’s only happened twice in the last 20 years.
