All-Time Cup Track Stats: Kansas

Last week at Bristol we got to see domination by Kyle Larson, but also hardly any meaningful passing in what most non-Kyle Larson fans thought was a snoozer of a race. Now, we head to the site of probably the best race and finish of the year, Kansas. Down below you will find different statistics from all of the NASCAR Cup races here at Kansas Speedway ranging from Most Wins to Best Average Finishes by starting position. So read and enjoy these fun fact track stats!
In this post you will only find all-time stats, if you are looking for only active drivers stats or Next Gen stats check out my next article Active/Next Gen Cup Track Stats: Kansas.
Active Drivers will be highlighted like so
Active means any driver who started a race in the 2024 Cup Series season.

First Winner:
Jeff Gordon 09/30/2001
Most Recent Winner: Kyle Larson 05/05/2024
Worst Starting Positions by Winner
Rank Race Start Pos. Driver Rank Race Start Pos. Driver
1 2011-13 25 Brad Keselowski T4 2015-11 19 Jimmie Johnson

3 2006-29 21 Tony Stewart T8 2014-11 13 Jeff Gordon

T4 2011-30 19 Jimmie Johnson 10 2012-32 12 Matt Kenseth

Only 3 times in 37 races at Kansas has a driver started out of the Top 20 and won. What’s more, the last time someone started out of the Top 10 and won was 5 years ago.

6 2001-28 28 Jason Leffler T10 2016-31 9 Matt Kenseth

Kansas has held qualifying for 33 of its 37 races, and out of the 33 Pole winners only 9 finished out of the Top 10. However, most of those were out of the Top 30.

As you might expect after the first few tables qualifying on the Pole at Kansas is a sign of a good race, and a not so bad chance at winning the race.
