GEICO 500

No doubt, Talladega Superspeedway brings the action and the chaos. Stage 1 of the GEICO 500 was a calm event with Austin Cindric winning the stage. The second stage remained calm and saw Joey Logano win the stage.

Then, the anticipated chaos began early in Stage 3 as a multi-car spin occurred. With 36 to go, a group of Toyotas came to pit road for green flag pit stops. Three laps later, a massive wreck, which included John Hunter Nemechek, Erik Jones, Bubba Wallace, and Denny Hamlin, brought out the caution.

The remainder of the race went green. But then?

When Michael McDowell was seconds away from claiming a ‘Dega win, he went spinning after contact with Brad Keselowski, handing the win to Tyler Reddick.

To add to the pandemonium, Corey LaJoie crossed the stripe on his side.

I mean, Talladega certainly Talladegaed there at the end.

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

Despite finishing 23rd, Chris Buescher earned the Rich MARvelous Move of the Race following ‘Dega.

As drivers were nearing the end of Stage 2, Joey Logano had control of the race. Then, Buescher snuck up from P3, slid between Logano and Austin Cindric, and secured P1.

Unfortunately, there was more shaking up to be had and Buescher finished the stage P7. But the slick move from the Prosper, Texas native was something to behold!

Tying up Texas

Speaking of Texas, last weekend, the PPN staff could not agree on the Rich MARevlous Move from Texas Motor Speedway so we left it up to the fans.

With the voting closed, the MARvelous Move goes to Bell’s team for roping him back into the race after an early spin.

Thank you to those who voted!
